An earlier than expected Ukraine implosion might become the staging for a U.S. pivot to the Taiwan ‘front’ – a contingency that already is being prepared.

I’m still waiting for someone to explain exactly how the US will pivot to Taiwan in a military sense. Just sending weapons to the DPP isn’t going to do much.

The latest ‘plan’ some US general is touting is to send thousands of dummy drones over the sky of Taipei, which is then supposed to ‘confuse’ China’s military, allowing the US and its allies (allies that are never named by the way) to have ‘time’ to stage and ‘support’ Taiwan defenses.

But it takes about ten minutes, maybe 15 on a lazy day, for Chinese fighters to travel from the mainland to Taiwan. And how are dumb drones, or even armed drones going to ‘confuse’ cruise missiles or smart bombs as they destroy Taiwan airfields and other military infrastructure?

Is the PLA going to say, “Look, up in the sky, it’s a bird, it’s a plane… No, it’s a thousand drones upholding truth, justice, and the American Way!” And then say, “Well, that’s that. We better go home and call it a day.”

Why not just let peaceful unification happen? Can’t do that, because the US is only interested in death and destruction. Last year I thought there couldn’t be a NATO push into Ukraine. The ultimate issue underlying the Russo-Ukraine war is the desire of the elite class in the West to treat the breakup of the Soviet Union as decolonization process akin the decolonization of Sub-Saharan Africa. In Africa, the Black Africans were told, the colonial boundaries were going to be the national boundaries regardless of how they cut across tribal, religious and linguistic lines or the boundaries of whatever polities existed in the precolonial era. Does the West have the right to dictate the same beyond the boundaries of the former Soviet Union?

There was, in fact, a post-World War II strategic settlement in Europe in the form of the Helsinki Accord. The Helsinki Accord settled all of the boundaries up to the border of the Soviet Union. If there is going to be a peace process and second phase of the European strategic settlement, it has to start with a declaration by the victorious power, the United States, the United Kingdom as head of the Commonwealth, Russia as the legal successor to the Soviet Union, and France that the Helsinki boundaries are going to be upheld.

Maybe youy have heard of the concept of the Cordon Sanitaire. The people who have as much heard of this idea take it as a tool to turn the nations of Eastern Europe into buffer states. Maybe it wasn’t just that. It might also have been a system for restraining the grievances of the political class in the various Eastern European nations. If the political leaders of these nations today complain that they are being turned into buffer states, the response essentially has to be, shut the f*** up. Anybody can find out what the boundaries of Ukraine were during the Soviet era and how the Ukraine was put together as a Soviet republic. Nobody knows what the boundaries of Ukraine should be because there was no independent and defined Ukraine as a nation in the contemporary sense prior the Soviet Union creating it as a constituent republic in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. There is no historic reason why all of the territory put under Ukrainian administration by the Soviet government has to be part of Ukraine. Notably, there is no basis for imagining that the Crimean Peninsula is historic Ukrainian territory. It isn’t. It was once Ottoman. Not Turkish. Ottoman. The Ottoman Empire is extinct to history, and the contemporary Turkey is not the Ottoman Empire’s legal successor.

Please note, by declaring that the Helsinki boundaries are to be upheld, the western border of Ukraine would be protected against the claims of the Eastern European countries. Notably, there can be no discussion of any transfers of territory however small until stability is achieved. Stability means, among other things, a settlement of the Russo-Ukraine war.

I sometimes like to tag these discussions by point out that I went to junior college without a high school diploma, got a B.A. degree from an unendowed private college deemed Tier III by the keepers of the university caste system and, eventually and quite recently, an M.A. degree in English literature from a California State University. There’s lots of interesting and useful information here, and lots of truth. A number of people have written whole books about the Rockefellers. They’re definitely near the top of the “Ruling Strata.” Interesting term, that. But I prefer “crime syndicate” or Western mafia. I take serious exception to only one section here – the part about the Club of Rome and Limits to Growth. Like almost everyone else, the author rather seriously misunderstands that work. The model (World 3) that underlies the books (there have been 3) has no financial or economic variables so has nothing whatever to do with economics or economic growth. It’s a purely physical model (how much stuff is there feeding the human economy, how fast are we using it or liquidating it, how fast are we poisoning it, etc.). It’s a scenario model, so makes no predictions. It just says if you do these things (have these policies), and behave in these ways, these are the likely outcomes. At least one scenario suggested that 8.5 billion people on the planet is sustainable, but not behaving the way the rackets’ systems have behaved in modern times.

What people don’t realize is that the first book (Limits to Growth) was roundly trashed by lots of people, led by the clients – the Club of Rome. If that doesn’t make any sense to you, you should know that the main reason for that is that the book was quite clear that the clients’ pet belief – that human population was THE problem – wasn’t true. Population is a factor, but the third most important factor, and one that would likely resolve itself if the other issues were resolved. They didn’t want to hear that at all. They also didn’t want to hear that by far the biggest threat to the system is technology (technocrats that they are). In systems language it’s a reinforcing feedback loop called “success to the already successful.” In biology terms, it leads to overshoot. Without balancing feedback loops, pretty much systematically wiped out by the rackets, it always leads to the implosion of the system. No exceptions. IMHO, the Uniparty is over (so to speak). Texas is now working with 5 other States on secession. New York has abandoned its legal system, and the consequent panic stricken rout of businesses will continue and accelerate. Other urban areas are not quite as badly off, but all lack the tax base to maintain their capital infrastructure. Federal funds come from seigniorage that depends on a vanishing US suzerainty. The only remaining question is how much damage Uniparty will do before it is renounced by its own constituencies.

IMHO, international trade will be greatly reduced. Food production will be greatly reduced. Mass starvation will occur, IMHO about a billion dead (give or take 50%).

Although I’ve seen speculations that the PRC could take the US West Coast, that does not seem to be realistic. The Asian powers that could project power (Japan, China, N and S Korea) have a resource deficit that they have yet to overcome. The obvious answer to that, conquest of resource areas, was tried by Pres. Bush and failed dramatically. Eastern powers would fare no better, whether fighting each other, fighting Islamic areas, or even in alliance (as all lack resources). PRC takeover of Taiwan would not alleviate PRC resource deficits, nor would it provide safe shipping routes for Taiwan manufactures, and it would kill Taiwan economic value as it has killed Hong Kong’s.

Again IHMO, the Eastern countries would be better off developing extraterrestrial resources. Trying to reprise the historical arc of Imperial Japan or even Imperial Germany — conquest, then insufficient resources to hold the conquest even with a 5X lethality for the individual soldier, is a sure loser.

European engineering/manufacturing in some areas is the best in the world. Russian engineering/manufacturing is not. European resources are largely used up. Russian resources are not. Independent countries NATURALLY have borders delimiting one from its neighbors. Similarly, it is the ROC’s right and responsibility to guide the whole of China per its constitution, if it chooses to.
