I don’t think there is any secret plan. The American ruling class has just degraded. There are a few reasons for this. Nepotism is a big one, obviously. They have to actively repel people with competence in order to stay on top.

Another factor in this degradation is that so many have started to believe their own propaganda, what is often referred to as “drinking their own kool aid” or “getting high on their own supply.” The USA has been “the empire of lies” for a long time. I believe that people in power originally knew the lies from the truth, but at some point, as generational turnover occured, a lot of these people were replaced with true believers who were brought up on the propaganda and only know the lies. This is most clear in the field of political economy. Western political and economic theory for the past 100-150 years has been designed to obfuscate the reality of politics and economics. This was beneficial for a class of oligarchs because it was used to justify their rentier activities, and it was good for cold war propaganda, but now we are at the point where a lot of people in power seemingly believe the lies. This caused them to make huge mistakes, like believing that economic development would lead China to becoming liberal and subordinating itself to the west, or that American sanction power would destroy the Russian economy. We can see it in the military, too, where the USA has been consistently overestimating western military potency. For example, thinking they could deter Yemen with a few missile strikes or that “superior” NATO tactics and weaponry would bring success for the Ukraine’s heavily publicized counteroffensive. And, most insane of all, many in the USA genuinely believing that the USA has the power to “defend Taiwan” and deliver some kind of major defeat to China on its own territory.

Between the massive amounts of drone video we have to now train LLM’s with,” both sides” flippantly discussing nuclear death for Whites, massive amounts of Third World shitskins invading, and constant psychological attacks we are in a precarious position. My main concern with all of the saber rattling is accidental use of nuclear weapons. Intentional use is either off the table or mostly out of our hands as the author suggests.

As things gradually heat up, there will be more nuclear drills along with more close calls and near misses. What if one side sinks a submarine on the other side? What about blinding a satellite that is used to detect missile launches?

Are any US tactical nuclear weapons deployed on a regular basis? I hope not, since I do not trust general tranny to make the right call.

Right now the worst that can happen from the war continuing in a controlled proxy fashion where neither NATO or Russia is inclined to use nukes is that Ukraine gets even more fucked. This isn’t really a cost to them. Hell, an even more fucked up Ukraine even more dependent on the West and with even greater irredentist claims on Russia is more pliable and controllable and a reliable anti-Russia proxy.

In the meantime they can also try to come up with some plan to get out of this hole even if there is no possible rational way to do so.

Of course they also fear what happens when the Russians finally win and how much of the Weltanschauung they use to rule comes down with the Ukrainian army. The great mass of people might have to wake up. And people tend to not be very intellectual politically. They go with the “Strong Horse” ideas. That’s what they truly fear, not the Russians rolling into Paris, Berlin or even Tallinn. They fear the collapse of the Cathedral of Lies.

NATO moved toward nuclear armed submarines in the late 70s. Unlike towers they are constantly moving and they negated the need for land based missiles. A single Trident sub can take out both Moscow and St. Petersburg and the surrounding areas. That would be the end of Russia. A Russian submarine can do the same to the US.

The defensive missiles added to countries like Poland are designed to shoot down a rogue missile from North Korea or Iran.

Of course these efforts continued seamlessly under Trump and he did his part by exiting the INF treaty, setting the stage for the development and deployment of new intermediate range nuclear armed missiles.

So apparently the cult was seeking nuclear primacy for the purpose of nuclear blackmail or a nuclear first strike against Russia and/or China.

I have to suspect a huge part of this is simply the theft of hundreds of millions or perhaps billions of dollars from the billions supposedly sent to Ukraine. Also, it pumps up our military contractors because they have to replace the weapons that are handed out. All this theft is being done in broad daylight and at present there is little danger to the people that run our government because if it looks like the war is going to go hot and expand they can simply declare it a lost cause and withdraw support for Ukraine. Then the whole thing collapses without a clear money trail to follow that might indict them.

Another possibility is the small hat parasites realize that America is on her last legs but still has enough power to win one more big war. This would allow them to move on from their old, worn out host (America) to their new, fresh host, (Russia.)

And finally, I suspect part of it is simple human psychology. The people in America’s government are narcissistic sociopaths. They have held power for so long and are so drunk with it that they cannot imagine a situation in which they get their ass handed to them. They are so delusional that they don’t realize that trying to defeat Russia militarily is the very thing that might well lead to their own destruction. Instead they see it as the obvious path to even more power and wealth for themselves. And in pursuing that path they may well bring destruction down on not just themselves but the entire world.

If one looks at Russia’s performance in WWII they started out weak and disorganized (getting their ass handed to them by the Finns) but they ended organized and strong. (Taking Berlin.) I have to suspect this is how a Western war against Russia might go. If it’s a conventional war. But I also have to say that if it became obvious to Russia that she was losing she would set the West on fire with nuclear weapons.

And this doesn’t even mention China. Does anyone think that America could defeat both Russia and China at the same time? Fighting both of them (which must surely happen) would be the worst case scenario for America. Does anyone think the World would escape nuclear destruction if this were to happen?

Seeing how cavalier the US is about threatening everyone with nukes, it turns me in the direction of wondering if a nuclear bomb is actually possible. Nobody’s used them for 80 years, my question is, why not? Yes, I know Russia entered the war against Japan. But it was done so late that it was just a cynical gesture in an attempt to grab some Japanese territory. Truman dropping the bomb could have been seen as a warning to the Soviets that we had the ultimate weapon and that Japan had to deal with the U.S. and not Russia. The point Tyson may be trying to make is valid. Modern nuclear weapons produce much less long-lived fallout than many early weapons developed in the 1940’s and 50’s. This means a major nuclear exchange might create less fallout than all of the above ground nuclear tests from 1945 to 1963. The bad news about this is that nuclear warfare is actually survivable from a radiation perspective and therefore more likely.

This was a concern over nuclear arms reductions, that at some point the arsenals are small enough to be useable and so smaller arsenals incentivize planners to pursue a first strike advantage. The big thing about nuclear arms control was trust and common sense. The USA nuclear arms actions since 2000 have thrown those important aspects out the window. This is why Russia developed several new doomsday weapons in direct response against US actions.

Russia regularly reminds the West of her nuclear warfare capabilities. This is really a reminder, not a threat. The threat was the USA dropping out of nuclear arms control treaties.

Here’s how that works:

Start with a stable government and country. Now, suppose that some vital part of the country’s “economy” (meaning in this little essay a household on a national scale) stops working.

Let’s say, for a real example, that cities become economically obsolete. What actually happened was that containerization and rubber tired transport over a national Interstate / Autobahn network moved the docks and manufacturing to the countryside rather than the high priced urban sites.

The political powerhouse cities take action — they tell the government to “fix it. Now.”.

But government doesn’t have the power needed to destroy container yards or the Interstate or the manufacturing plants that are distributed throughout the countryside. So the urban areas say “Fix it! And this time, no more Mr. Nice Guy.”. And the government (on various levels) pays for financial centers, convention centers, anything the city says will help it. 100,000 pounds of TNT can do a lot of damage and would just look like a “nuclear explosion” to anyone observing it. Who knows what other kinds of secret chemical explosives they have discovered since WW2, maybe they have something 10 times as powerful as TNT that is highly classified. The Russians had a widely acknowledged difficult history developing submarine launched solid-fuel ballistic missiles. The first version was very large and required a gigantic submarine which they have retired. This effort was an interesting contrast to their liquid-fueled submarine launched ballistic missiles which are very successful. These are gradually being replaced by the Bulava solid-fueled missiles which are comparable to American Trident missiles.

I investigated the liquid-fueled SLBMs because some enterprising Russians had the intriguing idea of using surplus missiles for small satellite launchers. The more interesting of the two actual commercial launches was to be a test of a light sail, but the mission failed. This was before New Space 2.0. Subsequently many small launchers have been investigated and flown.

The strange thing about Petraeus’ threat to destroy the Russian navy is that having a navy is much more important to the US than to Russia. I am still not clear who were the executors of the Srebrenica massacre. You did mention that Clinton told Izetbegovic that he wanted something like this. The ATACMS strike provides precioua information to Russia and Russia with the help of China can now work out improvements on their air defences. China needs to update its own air defences against possible US attacks of that kind.
