How do you know what the Ukrainians want? The last time they voted for Zelensky because he was for peace with Russia but looks how it turned out. The Zio Nazi regime and it’s propaganda regime are not the “Ukrainian people”.

Look at Georgia now where they’re trying to create another Maidan. Just because thousands, tens of thousands, or even hundreds of thousands turn out on the streets, they are not “the people”. Most people just stay at home and vote. Those on the streets may not be representing them. In fact they represent the interests of Western NGOs and Western government organisations (CIA, EU, etc.)

I don’t think Finland could contribute much to NATO militarily — since you seem to see Wikipedia as reliable, take a look at the List of equipment of the Finnish Army, and note the origin — other than some vehicles, Finland doesn’t seem to make much, and that kind of industrial capacity takes time to create.

Sweden has a more substantial armaments industry, e.g. they make fighter aircraft.

Together Sweden and Finland have approx 15m people (Sweden has 2x the population of Finland), so they could contribute some manpower.

Most important though is that the addition of Sweden and Finland to NATO was a needless provocation aimed at Russia that mainly benefits the US national security establishment (the same could be said about NATO expansion generally since the dissolution of the Soviet Union) — it’s hard to see how Sweden or Finland benefit, since Russia is not a threat to them — Orban should have blocked it (every NATO member has veto power over new members) — the fact he didn’t shows that even dissident politicians are often unreliable on critical issues.

Russia could have rolled over the Ukraine if after parking outside Kiev and Kharkov it had fielded the one million soldiers it had back in Russia. #1. Kiev is a city of ~3 million: you don’t take a city of 3 million with the 40K or so troops that were parked outside Kiev at the time.

#2. Russia rightly considers Kiev as an ancient Russian city: an invasion of say with 500K RF troops would have caused massive casualties to RF troops, Kiev civilians, and would destroy much of Kiev. Putin clearly remembers Russian experience taking Grozny: it was basically levelled and Moscow had to re-build it from ground up at a very high cost. Compared that to Kiev.

#3. Except for the neo-Nazi Banderite elements, Russians consider Ukrainians as “wayward”, or “confused” Russians. They are fellow Slavs. Putin & Co. have been VERY careful not to cause any unnecessary civilians deaths, even while UkroNazis deliberately murder Russian civilians in Donbas, and inside Russia.

#4. The war will be over some day. Russians and ‘Ukrainians’ will have to live next to each other. Hopefully someday British* troublemakers will leave the European continent and go back to their island, and try to live with their Muslim neighbors, if the latter will let them,
