Does this seem actually insane to anyone? To just listen to Putin threatening to send nukes and then claim he’s too pussy to go through with it so they can do whatever they want to him?
Like, we had that whole Cold War thing for decades, and the US government was telling people the Russians were going to nuke them, telling kids to hide under desks when the nukes drop. If JFK or Nixon had said “nah, those faggots ain’t gonna do shit,” it would have raised a lot of eyebrows, certainly.
It’s possible the Cold War nuclear hysteria was a bit too extreme, but the situation right now is a lot worse than it was in the 60s or 70s, and there is legitimately a chance the Russians could start firing nukes.
Saying “Putin is a pussy, don’t worry about him” seems sort of irresponsible.

But Russia is likely to expand a campaign of sabotage against European targets to increase pressure on the West over its support for Kyiv, said two senior officials, a lawmaker and two congressional aides briefed on the matter.
A series of intelligence assessments over the past seven months have concluded nuclear escalation was unlikely to result from a decision to loosen restrictions on Ukraine’s use of U.S. weapons. That view has not changed following President Joe Biden’s changed U.S. stance this month on weapons, said the sources, who were granted anonymity to speak freely about sensitive intelligence.

Something being “unlikely” and therefore not any problem at all is not how American society usually functions.
“The assessments were consistent: The ATACMs weren’t going to change Russia’s nuclear calculus,” said one congressional aide briefed on the intelligence, referring to American missiles with a range of up to 190 miles (306 km).
Russia’s launch of a new ballistic missile last week, which analysts say was meant as a warning to Washington and its European allies, has not changed that conclusion.

One of the five U.S. officials said while Washington assessed that Russia would not seek to escalate with its nuclear forces, it would try to match what it views as U.S. escalation. The official said fielding the new missile was part of that effort.
U.S. officials said the intelligence has helped guide an often divisive debate over recent months inside Biden’s administration about whether Washington loosening restrictions on Ukraine’s use of American weapons was worth the risk of angering Putin.
Putin doesn’t use a cellphone and doesn’t allow them in meetings. I’m honestly not sure how they can even claim to have intelligence this specific about what Putin is thinking. He has very publicly put nuclear weapons on high alert and they’re ready to be fired at a moment’s notice. He gives the word and those suckers are in the air in seconds.
This “unlikely” business might make sense if we were facing some kind of existential threat from Russia and making decisions under those circumstances, but regardless of the calculations about likelihood, we are currently at some level of risk of cities in Europe and even America getting nuked because the US wants to control the Ukraine, something which they have not explained other than to claim they want to help gays.
It’s a very strange situation all around.

Iran once shot down an RQ4 which is probably 5-6 times more expensive than the MQ9. Trump exploded with anger, wanted to bomb Iranian bases (with humans in them) in retaliation, but cowered out of it. Do you know why? Ukraine is going to suffer of course and be bombed harder. That’s why the Pentagon tried to talk them out of it. But they keep publicly nagging and browbeating the US about it, so the Biden gave them permission to take the risks they want to take and which they’ll have to bear by the themselves.

Putin’s dilemma is whether to attack forces on the soil of NATO countries, an act clearly justified by the NATO attacks on Russia. He is, I’m sure, under considerable domestic pressure to do just that, but that might provoke nuclear retaliation from NATO countries, leading to a nuclear exchange with tens or hundreds of millions of dead. Russia is clearly winning the war in Ukraine, slowly but surely, and the NATO missiles don’t appear to be doing significant damage–their sole purpose is to provoke a Russian response.

Having listened to two years of exaggerated claims about Russian military prowess, I don’t see Putin dropping nukes anywhere. Russia turns into an instant pariah nation and Russia is returned to a very primitive state.
Let’s walk through some use cases:
1) Russia drops one nuke on a military base. Now there’s radioactive fallout and mass casualties. The world ostracizes him. Is India, Brazil or China gonna hang in the BRICS orbit with the country that unleashed nukes? Nope.
2) Russia blows up several European capitals. It’s game over. World ends and human population is radically reduced; Russia is probably turned into a slag heap. Russia will have chosen its destruction and possibly that of the world because conventional missiles were being fired at targets inside of their borders. Sounds really absurd.
Russia’s best strategy and probably the one that is hidden in plain sight is to bankrupt the U.S. Add Zion Don’s massive deficits from his first administration with the Biden junta’s 500 billion dollars for just the Ukraine war plus all the other evil stuff they’ve been into, it’s game over. Yes, the U.S. will lash out in its death throes, but it makes absolutely no sense to break Sun Tzu’s command to never interfere with an enemy while he’s in the process of destroying himself.
