I am getting near my expiration date and was perusing the web site of my old doctoral institution, considering it as the recipient of most of my bank accounts and bonds when I finally depart this mortal coil. The most striking reality was that most of the photos of the graduate students in my old science department were not of people like myself. Amongst several dozen total, there were hardly any white males, but mostly females from third world African or Middle Eastern countries–and even more exotic locations. Apparently the less Caucasian, male or Western, the more coveted by American universities now.
