There were plenty of surprises in last week’s presidential debate. For one, Americans who rely on the mainstream media for their news learned that they had been lied to for the past three years about President Biden’s capability to do the job he was elected to do.
The realization that the media has been lying for years about Biden is a positive development, as, hopefully, thoughtful Americans might begin wondering what else the media has been lying about. For example, they will find out that the media has been lying to them for years about Russia and Ukraine and about the Middle East and elsewhere. They will find out that our hyper-interventionist foreign policy does not make us safer and more free, but the opposite.
Unfortunately for most Americans, foreign policy is something that happens “over there,” with few direct effects back home. Dumping nearly $200 billion into the lost cause called “Ukraine” may at most seem like an annoyance to many Americans, but it’s not like they are being snatched up by gangs of military recruiters and sent to the front line as is happening to Ukrainian men.
However, $200 billion is real money and the effect on our economy is also real. The bill will be paid by each American family indirectly through the inflation “tax.” Each dollar created out of thin air and spent on the Ukraine debacle devalues the rest of the dollars in circulation.
The danger posed by our foreign policy seemed to escape both candidates, who each tried to convince us they were “tougher” than the other. Despite Donald Trump’s sober and accurate warning that Joe Biden has taken us to the brink of World War III, his solution to the problem is doing more of the same. His stated foreign policy seems to be that were he in office the rest of the world would not dare do anything against his will.
He would have been so tough that Russian president Vladimir Putin would never have dared to invade Ukraine, he claimed. He would have been so tough that Hamas would never have dared attack Israel on October 7th. It’s only Joe Biden’s “weakness” that leads to these disastrous foreign policy outcomes.
But the world does not work that way. Decades of US sanctions placed on any country that fails to do what Washington demands have backfired and led to the emergence of a block of countries united in their resistance to American dictates. Being “tough” on less-powerful countries may work…until it doesn’t. That’s where we are today.
Neither candidate seems to realize that the world has changed.
I have always said that real strength in foreign policy comes from restraint. To prevent these bad outcomes everywhere, stop intervening everywhere. It is not “toughness” that would have prevented Russia from taking action against Ukraine. It is restraint. Not launching a coup in Ukraine in 2014 would have prevented the disastrous war in Ukraine. Just like not stirring up trouble in the South China Sea would prevent a war with China. Not continuing to occupy and intervene in the Middle East would prevent a major regional war which might include Iran and other big players in the region.
Restraint is the real toughness. Non-intervention is the only foreign policy that will keep us safe and free. We’ve tried it the other way and it does not work. Let’s try something different.
Ron Paul is a breath of fresh air. Unfortunately, his insights are way out of fashion. Prime Time America travels to the beat of a different drum. Freedom-loving America must spread ‘democracy’ and protect it against ‘fascism’ and tyranny. Yeah right.
How did this become our mission? Who set the agenda?
It’s been a concerted group effort. Americans have stood by helplessly, and mostly clueless.
Unified (((Globalists))) dominate American mass media, both of America’s two major Parties, not to mention our social media and even the search engines. This staggering fact explains why the normies out there are basically unaware about genuine, meaningful political alternatives. It’s simply not on the menu.
Besides, the hoi polloi are busy watching The View, local news, or the NFL.
It’s a real shame that non-intervention and dare I say isolationism are treated like vile, four-letter words among supposedly educated, mature adults in the USA, today.
They are the only foreign policy approaches that work, as Dr. Paul has already explained.
Today, when I see vast graveyards in Ukraine with blue and yellow flags fluttering above each of the many slain, I think to myself, “one day soon we will see vast cemeteries like these with the Stars and Stripes fluttering above the dirt mounds covering the dead.”
But aside from readers on Unz, most Americans seem to be okay with this outcome, and do nothing – not even speak out – to prevent it from occurring.
In reality, the post-debate reaction is more important than the debate itself, because if the debate showed a personal crisis of a candidate, the post-debate has shown a serious crisis in national politics.
I posted this idea about US belligerency on Unz a few years ago, and will do so again. Warning: Maybe it’s crazy. I think the wild-west gunfighter ethos has an outsized place in the US psyche…and so, foreign military adventures = the new Wild West. The Gunfight at the OK Corral was the subject of many remakes. During the 50’s, at one point there were something like 25 wild-west shows on tv. (Around a third of them involved Wyatt Earp!) As the movie’s song lyric goes, “The point of a gun was the only law Liberty (Valence) understood.”
Give them beer and Super Bowls. They will never revolt.
Concerning the “debate” between Trump and Biden (which I did not listen to and will not). We have now reached the place which Frank Zappa warned about many years ago. It no longer matters to The Powers That Be what we see, feel, or believe. They have taken off the mask AND the gloves. We are going to be told what is what and who is who, whether we like it or not.
It does not matter to them if Joe Biden turns in an abysmal performance nor whether Donald Trump is an enormous gas bag who cannot think without talking. Newsom, RFK, Jr., Whitmer, Gabbard, DeSantis, Clinton, Big Mike, or any number of other “contenders”? They are all bought and owned. They will do as they are ordered.
So will you.
The stage has been cleared. The curtains have been pulled back. The brick wall at the back of the theater is plainly obvious. Those who refuse to see it for what it is will continue to smash their heads against it. For those who see clearly, the time has come to stop supporting the System and put their efforts into closing the play down. Better yet, closing the theater entirely.
Voting is nothing more than choosing whose hand holds the club with which you are beaten. It does nothing to stop the beatings.
This is the lingering inheritance of our WW2 “glory.”
This implies that the common man is the one who makes the decisions in the US, which is obviously untrue.
The decision makers weren’t here during the “Wild West” years. It has zero formation on their psyche.
Reinstated draft, cargo holds full of flag draped coffins, bombed out cities, power grid fried, no internet, supply chains of medications and food interrupted, nuclear radiation and bio-war plagues, these are the dire consequences, in addition to inflation, that common Americans will reap for allowing themselves to be led like lemmings off the Dover Cliffs. Until then, it’s just another reality show somewhere else.
The Debate Should be a Wake-Up Call for Americans https://www.unz.com/rpaul/the-debate-should-be-a-wake-up-call-for-americans/?utm_source=email&utm_campaign=rpaul
You wrote: “Americans had been lied to for the past …. years”
In New York, 1915 (nineteen fifteen) at the banquet for the “Free American press”, the journalist Swinton stood up and said: “What are you babbling about the freedom of the press when you all know perfectly well that day after day, we sell our state and our race for filthy money.”
Always the same on the planet of primitive and cheap-to-buy primates
In earlier times, the situation was not as extremely satanic as it is today and there was hardly any whistleblower, but the real rulers from the shadow and their puppets (the official rulers & media) have always behaved in the same way.
If you want to understand this, then you should read “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion” and perhaps also “The Book of the Kahal”.
The citizens of the USA can do absolutely nothing, not the slightest thing, to change the whole thing. It is late, far too late, for significant changes in society.
But some individuals who do the RIGHT thing can positively influence their own (but only their own) destiny.
How your politicians & (their) MEDIA over-employ you with false problems so that you cannot even recognize the true problems and do something against it? https://mile7bar.substack.com/p/how-your-politicians-over-employ
How can Primitive jewish Zionists, Satanic* Incest Bastards** & Enemies of Humanity control/ dominate/ enslave the USA, NATO & the western world? But NOT for much longer!
* John 8: 41-47; John 15: 21-24; Matthew 27: 25
** Leviticus 18: 6. 20. 22. 29 (Satan & Devil = Synonyms) https://mile7bar.substack.com/p/how-can-jews-control-the-us
You said: “… will keep us safe and FREE”?!
Too many idiots have learned to write, but they have never tried to think with their own heads as if they had none.
Such idiotic statements (jewsh-American Slave and Free) are usually the result of depraved satanic propaganda based on the “Protocols of the Elders of Zion”.
Satans and incomprehensible cattle have reproduced on the planet of primates more than rats in sewers.
“Voting is nothing more than choosing whose hand holds the club with which you are beaten. It does nothing to stop the beatings.”
Eminently quoteworthy. Thanks for this gem ^
“His stated foreign policy seems to be that were he in office the rest of the world would not dare do anything against his will.”
Indeed. In the debate he said IIRC ‘If I’d been president, Putin would not have invaded Ukraine.’ On what plausible basis can he claim that?
You are welcome and free to use it.
In fact there is something we can do – something that Dr Ron Paul has been beating the drums about for five decades.
And of course that is confiscating that endless ‘River of Riches’ (aka The U.S Federal Reserve) from ZOG.
This would be a mortal blow that would eventually lead to the demise of the Zionist Usury Banking Cartel (the cabal of Talmudic miscreants that controls the entirety of the western financial system, and owns every western politician of note).
I assume Trump meant he might have negotiated with Putin that security arrangement that the Russians proposed (primarily, Ukraine not joining NATO).
And the only reason we are allowed a vote is in order to make us feel responsible for what they choose to do to us.
Right-wing Jews create extremely embittered, traumatized Mideast refugees.
Left-wing Jews demand that Western countries (NOT Israel!!) take them all in.
(((That unspeakable reality))) lies at the core of “American” foreign & domestic policy, and none of our master debaters are going anywhere near it.
Another post from someone masquerading as a libertarian when the real sources is the Kremlin.
Joker, as your handle would imply, you’re a joke.
The number of videos I’ve posted that feature Dr Ron Paul, Tom Woods (prominent Libertarian and lead author of the Ron Paul Home School Curriculum), Peter Schiff (the premier financial commentator in the world), stuff from the Mises Institute and links to Lew Rockwell articles, absolutely DWARFS what the second place individual has posted.
And let’s be clear, seeing as the Libertarian party has been infiltrated by ZOG funded sources over the years, and thus some ‘factions’ within the party do indeed have some nonsensical beliefs, it is RON PAUL/ROTHBARDIAN/JEFFERSONIAN Libertarianism that I advocate for.
I have purchased several books of Ron Paul’s and made financial contributions to The Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity in the past.
WHAT THE EFF HAVE YOU EVER DONE TO PROMOTE DR RON PAUL’S MESSAGE Joker, you warmongering neocon?
Tooth Dilettante –
I can see my comments struck a nerve.
I could relate what I have done to support the Libertarian cause, but no doubt it would not be enough in your eyes.
In any case, the claims you have made of support are simply your word, and your word is worth nothing.
You are like those people who protested the Vietnam War. Some of them just did not want us sticking our nose into the business of other countries. Others, like you, wanted the Bolsheviks to win.
So, it is a case of the same goal, with different motivations.
Obviously, you are butt-buddies with Poo-tin.
I agree with this to a point, but there is more. Ultimately, the only reason we are allowed a vote is that it makes us feel that we have some measure of power over what happens. In other words, we, i.e., the voters, are comfortable with the system because we think that our vote actually means something in the great scheme of things.
Voting is nothing more than choosing whose hand holds the club with which you are beaten. It does nothing to stop the beatings.
I beg your pardon! This is BS to the nth degree!!
Let’s break this down. The (individual) citizens of the (collective) USA…
Every single collective which has ever existed in the history of the world, no matter how small, localized, or focused, has been comprised of individuals who have agreed to collectively work for an agreed upon objective. It does not matter what the objective is. What is critical to understand is that collectives and collective operations only exist when individuals pool their efforts, time, and resources.
Too late to change the whole thing? Well, the individual does not have to change the whole thing, (s)he only has to change herself (himself). Changing oneself, for the better or for the worse, will impact the collective, even if only on a very small scale, but if enough people, all individuals, change themselves, the overall collective will change.
We are not required to make “the whole thing” better. We are only encouraged to change ourselves. Doing so will work wonders, although it may take time, perhaps even time beyond our lifespans. It does not matter how long it takes. What is important is that we do what is right, even if we cannot see the end result.
Unfortunately, we cannot assume what Trump meant. We only know what he said.
It is foolish to assume anything about what anyone, powerful or powerless, said. Assumptions usually lead to misunderstandings, which lead to mistakes.
Trump said that IF he had been president, Putin would NOT have invaded Ukraine. You can put any amount of spin on this, but in the end, it really means that Trump had some measure of control over Putin which would have eliminated the possibility of Russia acting on its own. Since Putin operates in his own self-interest (and that of Russia), he probably does not care too much what Trump thinks.
As far as I am concerned, this is just another of Trump’s bloviations meant to satisfy his rabid followers. Just another piece of red meat thrown to a pack of hungry, snarling dogs who will swallow anything which comes from the master’s hand.
He meant he wouldn’t have followed the womanly neocon scheme of taunting Russia with provocation after provocation and then screaming bloody murder when Putin did the natural thing and moved into former Russian territory. He simply wouldn’t have carried out the plan for WWIII.
Donald J Chump does exactly as he’s told by the Talmudic puppet masters.
We KNOW that with certainty – because that’s how Chump’s first term played out.
Emslander, what’s wrong with you to be thinking, for even one second, that Trump is allowed autonomy to decide anything substantive?
Yes, there was one solitary exception to that rule, when as President-elect Chump defied the cartel of Zionist bankers that control the entirety of the western political and financial systems, and he appointed General Michael Flynn.
Well, we all saw how that worked out – Flynn lasted all of 22 days before ZOG forced Donald Chump to get rid of him.
I am no fan of Donald Trump, the best thing about him is he is not Joe Biden.
Just because Tooth Dilettante makes comments about Trump, does not make them true.
Trump is willful and bull headed, he does not take orders from anyone. That should be obvious to anyone except Tooth Dilettante, who gets his news from the Daily Worker.
Ukraine would have negotiated with Russia if we hadn’t told Ukraine it had a blank check f4om us to finance a war against Russia. They knew and know they can’t even with unlimited funds. But it’s fun when you’re corrupt to get a lot of other’s money for a lost cause since you won’t have to account for it. And yet again whites are the ones being killed in another war manipulated into being by (((those))) who always benefit from wars. And we lose more bright and best whites in yet another brother war.
When you say ‘Negotiated’, you mean surrender the territory Putin demanded, right?
Give it up Joker.
You just can’t help yourself, can you?
Every fibre in your body screams ‘neocon’, and thus you take every opportunity to justify the wars orchestrated by the Anglo Zionist empire.
Even Blind Freddie can see that Putin is fighting a just war. Putin only engaged in the conflict because ethnic Russians in the Donbas were being murdered in their thousands.
It’s the classic Jewish M.O that was utilised in WWII, where the Talmudic miscreants got the Poles (backed with guarantees of support from the perfidious British and FDR), to commit atrocities against the ethnic Germans living in Poland*.
(*In fact these were German territories for centuries, but were stolen from Germany after WWI and allocated to the new Polish state).
Absent those despicable acts from the stupid Poles, Germany would never have invaded.
The exact same situation occurred in the present conflict, as the Judeo-Ukrainian regime (once again with the backing of the Anglo Zionist empire), used the same playbook to force the Russians to militarily engage.
Give it up, Tooth Dilettante. You are the one who cannot help yourself.
Your worship of Karl Marx is a compulsive behavior which screams Bolshevik loud and clear.
