But, I can’t verify that was the intent of the Third Reich. Before voluntarily becoming an instrumentality of death for the U.S. “government” (either his own death or that of someone else at his hands), Pat Tillman had a civic and moral duty to at least do a little research into what he was getting himself into. So why didn’t he declare conscientious objector status at that point? Why didn’t he go AWOL like Pablo Paredes or Camilo Mejia did rather than kill people in a war he knew was illegal?
