If both republicans win, will it slow down this growing tyranny? Or will the “party of Lincoln” fold, as usual?

As a federal employee, I’m in the process of getting vaccinated before a November 22nd deadline so I won’t lose my job. I had not been planning on doing that because I had Covid in June. My plan was to wait until studies started coming out showing that natural immunity was declining among people who had already had the disease and then get vaccinated. That way I could avoid any possible negative effects of the vaccines while being protected against Covid by my natural immunity, at least for awhile. It’s possible natural immunity could last for years. By the time I needed to get vaccinated, there might have been safer and more effective vaccines available I could take or effective treatments might have been developed that would make getting vaccinated unnecessary.

Now I’ll never know how long my natural immunity would have lasted and will be subjected to any negative side effects of a vaccine that was only tested several months. I can’t see any benefit to others from this that would exceed any costs to me. Not only would my natural immunity prevent me passing on the disease to my coworkers but I also telework from home full time and never come within miles of any of my coworkers. The information I received from my employer specifically stated that no exemptions would be given for natural immunity.

I am just hoping this doesn’t do any long term damage to my health. When I got the first shot of the Pfizer vaccine, the after effects were actually worse than the after effects of Covid when I had it. I quickly recovered from Covid. After getting vaccinated with the first Pfizer shot, I had sharp shooting pains in various parts of my body for several days along with a sore arm and shoulder. My best friend said the same thing happened to his girlfriend when she got the shot. Since the shot, I have felt tired and slightly nauseous. The last two nights I was so tired I slept 11 hours each night. Two and a half weeks after the shot, I still have a sore shoulder and also have some abdominal pain now. I get the second shot on Monday and hope it doesn’t make things worse.

Why not agree to take the shot, but then refuse to sign the obligatory waiver form absolving Pfizer of any liability unless your employer agrees in writing to compensate you for any time missed from work due to illness or injury caused by the shot(s)?

Chances are they’ll tell you to take a walk, but it will have established potential liability on the part of your employer. At least when all this ends, you can show that you were not a willing participant, that you did not agree to this but were coerced.
