Last week I told you that the famous Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge has issued a warning to viewers of this John Constable painting of Hampstead Heath.
It has a “darker side” because it implies that “only those with a historical tie to the land have a right to belong [in Britain].” This painting is from around 1820. I guess Constable should have included some Pakistanis.
This ridiculous “warning” is part of a ridiculous fashion of claiming that the British countryside “excludes” non-whites. The latest salvo was a report to Parliament by Wildlife and Countryside Link, a coalition of 80 nature organizations.
The report makes novel arguments.
Did you know that “Racist colonial legacies continue to frame nature in the UK as a ‘white space’, and people of colour as ‘out of place’ ”?
Or that “there are multiple, intersecting barriers that can prevent ethnically diverse people — that means non-whites — from accessing urban and rural green spaces”?
And that there is therefore a “moral imperative to include people and communities who have been historically excluded”?
Who is barring Africans from parks and pushing Muslims off hiking trail? Obviously, no one, so there was some mild indignation about this nuttiness in the British press. So, last month, the group that issued the report wrote, “Wildlife and Countryside Link does not believe the entire countryside is a racist, colonial, white space.”
Just most of it. The idea that Hampstead Heath is “colonial” is insane. Is it also fascist and sexist?
We will get more insanity. “Hate crime experts to rule whether English countryside harbours ‘rural racism’.”
The Centre for Hate Studies — yes, there is such a thing — at the University of Leicester got two years to reach a verdict.
The head sleuth is Neil Chakraborti, Director of Hate Studies.
He “has extensively researched hate crime, targeted hostility and violence against minorities.”
In Britain there is no hate, hostility, or violence against whites.
Second in command is a professor of colonialism and heritage.
She has turned William Blake’s line about “England’s green & pleasant land” upside down and written a book called Green Unpleasant Land, which “explores the countryside’s repressed colonial past.”
She says “taking country walks together are a great way to understand how colonial activity & imperial wealth shaped our countryside.”
White people love to feel good about feeling bad about being white.
The third “rural racism” detective is Amy Clark, a research fellow at the hate center, who has spent the last nine years immersed in hate.
She co-hosts a podcast called “Hidden Hate.” What a rollicking life.
Can you spot the hidden hate in this scene?
No? You’re not qualified to hunt for rural racism.
The hate-center team has found 40 bona fide BIPOC victims of rural racism who are “uniquely placed to co-produce the research data in the form of stories, photos, poems and other arts-based media.”

The money for this “study” is from “the Leverhulme Trust, a charity established by a plantation-owning soap magnate behind Unilever, which vowed following Black Lives Matter protests in 2020 to help ‘rid the world of the systemic injustices of racism’.”
The final report will be out this fall.
So, what keeps BIPOCs out of the countryside? Beth Collier — there she is on the left — does what she calls nature-allied psychotherapy.
She traces “exclusion” back to the “early environmental movement.” How’s this for gobbledygook? “This fueled the dispossession of lands for a lot of indigenous people, and the idea that they were a blight on the landscape and needed to be removed in order for these landscapes to be pure and to be enjoyed.”
What? The indigenous people of Britain are white.
More gobbledygook: “Upon encountering the British Empire and migrating to the west, we were told we were progressing because we were living in more technical, affluent cities. So, nature was backwards, and cities and urban life were progressive. That led to the internalisation of a sense of being inferior for having a relationship with nature.”
This Guardian article about camping is more straightforward.
First, it explains that most Third-Worlders have no tradition of camping. Also, as a Muslim scout master explains, “the connection between simple living and poverty is just too strong. . . . so camping may be seen as a backwards step.”
But once they’re out in the country, oh boy, “Black hikers encounter racism and ignorance on the trail.”
Example? This guy, Enoch Adeyemi, says he likes to get 40 black people together and go up mountains in Scotland, music blaring. “Folks have confidently stopped and told us to turn our music off. I think ‘why should I turn off my music?’ Just because white Scottish people enjoy nature one way, that doesn’t mean black people have to enjoy it exactly the same way.”
He points out that black people naturally make a racket. “Folks from Africa are more animated and their voices are louder. We’re advocates of being ourselves but some people don’t like that. They’d rather you be quiet outdoors.”
But even he agrees most black people just don’t want to be there. “I think black folks think hiking is for white people, ‘why would I want to walk up a mountain for nothing?’ ”
One reason is to stick it to whitey. Peaks of Colour is a “nature-for-healing club by and for people of colour only.”
That’s nice. I guess they have been excluded for centuries — heck, millennia — so they’re going to exclude us.

For its main event, 1,500 black people ride bicycles 16 miles through London.

A British bird-watching group called Flock Together is in the business of “challenging perceptions on what ‘nature’ is and who it belongs to.”
What if you like nature the way it is? It invites you to “join the flock.” Do blacks always move in phalanxes like this?
This is how white people like to be outdoors.
And look out for Black Trail Runners, coming your way with a big chips on their shoulders.
“Invisible barriers to access mean that Black people miss out on enjoying our outdoor spaces.”
“Black and minority communities [are] excluded from the narrative of trail running.”
The founder of the group knows how to solve that problem: “Middle-aged white men in their ivory towers who are in charge of budgets and funding for these organisations, need to listen and act on what we have been telling them about our communities and the lack of inclusion that we’ve seen in these spaces.”
In other words, “Give us money.” She goes on: “There have to be people of colour, the global majority, appointed into these positions where they can be decision makers.”
Got that? The global majority. Because there are more non-whites than whites in the world, non-whites should run Britain.
Muslim Hikers is another group doing its part.
It got Addidas to sponsor signs to Mecca along a popular hiking trail, so they can point their bums in the right direction when they pray.
One hiker says this “makes me feel like the National Park is welcoming us with open arms. Something as simple as this can make us feel very welcomed.”
Her group got a British company to design a waterproof prayer mat for rainy days.
“Having a prayer mat which is weatherproof means I don’t have to worry about walking around with a soggy mat in my bag. These little things make a big difference.”
No wonder they didn’t feel welcome. No signs to Mecca! No waterproof prayer mats!
Here’s another handwringing report on “exclusion.”
It’s got a whole chapter on “‘Dadima’s Countryside Walks and Talks’, which are designed to change the narrative of the countryside.”
What if British people don’t want the “narrative” changed? Too bad. Groups of Indians show up with pots of food for walks called “‘Saris, Salwaars & Boots: Samosas, Chai & Chutney’, through activities highlighted “sharing migration stories… and cultural wisdom/heritage.”
And your dog is a problem, whitey. It “causes specific access issues for some people from ethnic minority backgrounds, particularly if they are Muslim, and can be a significant deterrent in visiting many natural environments.”
So, get used to it. Next time you go for a ramble, leave your dog at home and expect to see Muslims praying on waterproof mats, gangs of Indians chomping on chutney, changing the narrative, and blacks carrying boomboxes while you grieve over how your ancestors exploited these people.
We Yanks can be just as bad, of course. “America’s national parks face existential crisis over race.”
Oh, that “mostly white workforce.” Pretty awful. But part of our global majority has a sense of humor about it all.

I went on the hiking trail the other day and being a bit near sighted and sometimes neglecting to put on my specs, in the distance I saw a big hulking black blur, looking kind of like Loyd Austin but not as old, imagine my relief when I put on my specs and realized it was just a black bear.
The truth is most non-Whites are not out-doorsy types though recently because of the influence of the modern West, some non Whites have taken up this lifestyle. The desire to explore caves and a desire to go camping and fishing is a White thing, more so even, a Northern European thing. The truth is that contrary to jew propaganda, Northern Europeans (including Russians) and Japanese have this love for nature in ways no other population has. That despite industrialization and modernisation, Northern Europeans and Japanese still love to go to the countryside and the wilderness from time to time. To go a little campin and fishin. The love for the cottage among Britons or the dacha to Russians.
This could be because Northern Europeans and Japanese remained more rural for a longer time compared to populations more South and yet went on to build up advanced civilizations.
Most Africans once out of the jungle love to stay in cities and most of them hate wildlife as something dangerous. They do not have they romantic love for Wild Life that White people have. Check out the houses of native Britons in the UK and compare them to the houses of South Asians (Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis etc…), once a South Asian buys a house from a native Briton in the UK, the first thing he does is concrete over a large part of the garden.
Central Asians, Chinese, Koreans, Persians, Turks may not be as naturally outdorsy as Northern Europeans and Japanese but they at least have the love of the garden. When Babur the first Mughal Emperor of India conquered India, being of Central Asian origins, he was surprised how Indians houses did not have gardens and Indians those days did not seem to have any interest in it unlike his fellow Central Asians (Uzbeks, Uyghurs etc…)
Different populations have different genetic and cultural tendencies. it is a fact of life. Most of these non-White populations are not naturally of the outdoorsy type anyways.

There is no question that whites are the world’s museum curators. That is one of their great strengths as a people. Other people have their ancient traditions, but have no great interest in them even a generation later.

There are lot’s of my fellow white brits that feel the same, warmer climates for a one or two weeks holiday is more appealing. They love getting tanned, the booze and full english breakfasts.

Tenzing Norgay had joined earlier British expeditions to the Everest which were unsuccessful in reaching the summit. He was with Eric Shipton and his 1935 British Mount Everest reconnaissance expedition. He also participated as a porter in three official British attempts to climb Everest from the northern Tibetan side in the 1930s.
But that is the point, the Sherpas are a mountain people of Nepal, who are built to withstand those difficult conditions, but it were White people who were making expeditions with a desire to reach the summit.

There were many uncussesful/ partially sucessful expeditions to the mountain, until finally Sir Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay finally reached the summit. But that is my point, all of these early expeditions were done by Europeans. There were rich Indian Rajas and rich Tibetans, Nepalese and rich Chinese, you know aristocrats, royalty, merchants and all that but none of them seemed interested in stuff like this until Europeans came. Sure by now you have Indians, Africans, Thais, Nepalese etc… who have all reached the summit, but the whole thing was started by Whites.
So Hillary climbed Everest and what’s it like now? Crowds of tourists paying big money to climb and take selfies while throwing garbage all around, natives selling them souvenirs, and whatever not. So some White went and discovered a beautiful tropical island and now they open five star hotels and hustle tourists on the street. What’s the point of making all these discoveries? They’d have all been better off staying home and climbing their local hill. And they wouldn’t then be having all these adventurous immigrants who clamber over each other in overcrowded leaking boats to invade their living and recreational spaces.

There is no connection in my books. The Governments could have simply stopped the immigrants. They do not because they do not want to. Actually I have, over the last couple of decades, noticed an increase in Indian and Pakistani walkers in at least the classic tourist areas – for example going up Snowdon, the tallest mountain in Wales. You’ll see whole families of subcontinentals walking up together on a Bank Holiday weekend.
What you won’t see so much (if at all) is them doing it ‘off the beaten track’. When I was 17 or 18 it was a thing to pile in a car, head for mid-Wales and find a hill to walk up away from the tourists. Lots to choose from.
BLAX avoid forests because trees, especially those with mostly horizontal spars/beams/branches, trigger genetic memories of “dark fruit hanging”.
I encourage BLAX to get more involved with ocean swimming as an outdoor experience.

I half agree with you, but… Those Polynesians and Melanesians sailed all over the Pacific discovering and settling new islands. There were always nomadic non-Whites who used to travel over vast areas. The Chinese had a huge navy that sailed as far as Africa. Most nations travelled to settle the lands which they occupy, and look how far the Mongols, Huns and Asiatic American Indians got. Now you’d say that they did it because they had to in order to survive but how do we know some initial guy/s didn’t do it for the sake of adventure? Most of those White explorers were driven by profit, voyaging because they were searching for a new route to the spices and gold of the East, and many early travellers were spies – they weren’t adventurous for the sake of it. I’d say that non-Whites were more adventurous in the past but it is adopting Western lifestyles that made them lose it. Then there were those native girls that used to dive looking for pearls.
An interesting article. A British Ethnic Homeland isn’t against anyone. It’s a historical fact. The British (English, Scots, Welsh and Irish) are the native people of the British Isles same as the rest of the native flora and fauna. They’re physically adapted to the climate having lived there for millennia and have developed a society that suits them including mountain walking.
Equally, other ethnicities have their own homelands and can do what they want there. It’s nothing to do with the British. The British don’t need to go to Nigeria, tell them that their country is too black and that they need to include more white British people in their social activities.
The solution seems obvious. Just put into law that ethnic British people “own the house”. In other words only ethnic British people work in the administration and hold state power (have voting rights). Everyone else can continue living/working there if they pay taxes and don’t break the law.
For example, same as Dubai and it works fine. There’s no confusion with a Pakistani contract worker having political rights in the UAE (but he still wants to work there). He’s also not expecting to be in their government or participate in their social activities.

I make damn sure I always take a compass. M-73 prismatic marching, tritium dots for when it’s dark, or one of my backup WWI-vintage ones, all nice and radioactive for when I’m up the hill in b-f nowhere (Scotland) even for short walks. Forestry plantations, deer fences and flow mosses aren’t much fun when the weather inevitably closes in.
And of course a proper map in a case, head torch(es) and a bivvy bag.

I agree many Europeans did for profit too but I know as a fact that curiosity drove a lot of their adventures, the way they recorded everything about the places, the flora, fauna, the geology, the human societies etc.. for common knowledge.
In my opinion and observation, the exact opposite is correct. Westernisation makes people more adventurous, especially where some gain is not involved. Westernisation makes darkies desire experiences over gain. Western society led to the concept of protecting natural habitats and areas for their aesthetic and rejuvenating aspects, in addition to protect and enhance wildlife. No other society in history achieved such an advancement.

Sutherland is consistent with the findings from Cato/Yougov.They find that self-censorship has skyrocketed. In the 1950s, at the height of McCarthyism, 13.4 percent of Americans reported that “felt less free to speak their mind than they used to.” In 1987, the figure had reached 20 percent. By 2019, 40 percent of Americans reported that they did not feel free to speak their minds. This isn’t a partisan issue, either. Gibson and Sutherland report that, “The percentage of Democrats who are worried about speaking their mind is just about identical to the percentage of Republicans who self-censor: 39 and 40 percent, respectively.”

Yes they did, and so did the Chinese, who spent a lot of time sending people to investigate India (which to them was “the West”), which is where they got their Buddhism from, and Central Asia, back when it was a highly developed, happening sort of place. Unforunately, one thing that history shows us is that the higher the abstraction the greater the violence. And the explanatory system known as Identity Politics is the most abstract in the history of explanations. This is no small thing. Since explanations function by coordinating behavior.
Another unpleasant fact is that, since psychotic arrogance and self-awareness don’t go together, the IP mob and its hostile elite are so doped in fanaticism, so hate-filled and delusional, that they are incapable of grasping an obvious fact. Now that fact is this:
Identity Politics is not just the dominant ideology of the West today, it’s the most powerful ideology in the history of ideologies, given its control over human and natural resources in an age of globalization. Begging the question:
How can anything dominant be oppressed?
Correspondingly, Whites as Whites have no institutional power or cultural control, which in turn begs the question, Whoever heard of a powerless oppressor?
And now we’re back to why, not just CRT, but the whole of Identity Politics is based entirely on magical thinking, like the kind of magical thinking found in children who believe a boogey man is in the closet and about to attack them, or adults who think we can vote our way of out of this. We can’t. And if we could, as the saying goes, they wouldn’t let us do it. Obviously!
In any event, speaking of predictive value, we can safely predict that Identity Politics will continue to do as much damage as it can before all is said and done.

Remember The Whorf Hypothesis? It proposed that the way one perceived the world was determined by the language one used. This can be applied to Identity Politics in general, and the above quote in particular, with some important qualifications.
First, language determines nothing. We do. Meaning, something is interpreted based on a cultural convention designed to illicit a conventional or conditioned response.
Second, it’s depressingly easy to show that the language of Identity Politics* is not only hysterically over-simplified, but that the over-simplified language is unexamined and uncriticized to an extraordinary degree. The point of this over-simplification is to militarize response. No questions asked – just obey.
The objective is to eliminate choice and freedom, of course, since freedom is only possible when there are choices, and ultimately to reinforce a conditioned response with no variation. In short, the goal is to produce an army of psychotics.
This is the explanation for why it will fail, and in fact, is already failing. The empirical justification for this claim is, well, just look around. Everything they control is in free fall.

What I’d like to offer here is certainly not the truth, and it’s definitely not a theory. It’s just an interpretation of Constable, an alternative, if you will, to that given in this article by those who live by and actually believe in Identity Politics.
First, let’s direct attention to the hilarious irony in the difference between Constable and the interpretation as truth given by Identity Politics. And the irony is that Identity Politics is rightly seen as being synonyous with tyranny, while tyranny was exactly what Constable was trying to free himself from in his art.
How do we know this? One answer, of course, is Art History. But an even short answer that’s even more to the point is Constable himself. Constable was trying to free himself from the tyranny of subject, and he did.
Before the 19th century artist chose spots that looked like paintings, but were in fact painted in the artists studio. Put baldly, they were abstractions from nature. The subject, not the rendering, was what mattered most in this tradition. This is not to diminish their genius, in things like composition, technique, etc. it’s to highlight the extraordinary innovations of Constable, which were the product of his genius. By giving painting itself a new identity he was able to discover his own!
He was part of a group of men, poets, philosophers, artists, musicians, who were literally discovering the connection between the sense of value and the sense of identity. Thereby making the joke that is Identity Politics a case of cultural expropriation and degeneration, given how inept their ideology is in explaining identity, ie; diminishing identity by placing it under the iron paw of a political ideology.
Talk about self-betrayal. What greater betrayal to one’s sense of identity than stuffing it inside of a rigid ideology that demands blind obedience to its authority!
In any event, this is why the painters of the 19th century returned again and again to the landscapes of their childhood. A tradition that began with Constable. Which is why he was often and rightly called the father of Modern painting.
Inspired by Wordsworth, who had already discovered this return to the places of childhood in his poetry (the child is the father to the man), Constable discovered one of the most important aspects of his art. The task of the painter, as Constable saw it (not as Identity Politics idiotically interprets it) was not to paint just something, but to make something out of nothing, and in so doing experience the sense of value and identity that comes from creating great art.
And he did it by returning to the landscape where his emotional life began, when he first felt his identity and first experienced a reasonably stable relation to his surrounding world. This is how he renewed and revitalized the current of his truest feeling. Constable’s art is a living embodiment of Nietzsche’s call, uttered later in the same century, to Become Who You Are, and not who others, like the cackling hens of Identity Politics, want you to be. No wonder they don’t like him.
Constable did 200+ years ago what they still can’t do today, he used his imagination to become a human being. He used his creativity to experience the sense of value. While the IP mob use a shallow and narrow-minded political ideology to become caricatures of themselves. Like I said, no wonder they hate him, and not just him. Constable is more alive today than they will ever be.

Not to mention national parks are protected in the west while often they’re used for economic activities in the rest of the world

Such a mensch. Africa has some of the largest ‘national parks’ on the planet- established to prevent the native blacks from completely exterminating the native wildlife. The economic conditions prevalent include lots of shekels to one group of blacks to guard the wildlife against another group of blacks, neither group have any interest in the ‘outdoors’ except hunting – killing off elephants or other horned animals for the horns/tusk for profit and leaving the carcasses to waste- and go back to town to live- or preventing hunting for the money (the guards live in nearby towns otherwise. Prior to the advent of colonization, the jungle bunnies and the nomadic tribes lived a life of kill it- eat it- celebrate- build a mud hut. NO evidence of exploring for fun, recreation, whenever, wherever.
