The best book on immigration and one that I own a copy of is Peter Brimelow’s Alien Nation book. That suggested we reduce total numbers of immigrants and let immigrants in who can speak English, have high education levels or have job offers. This is something like the points system some countries have adopted. Trump advocated something like this the last time he was in office.

This heads off the problem of large numbers of low skill and poorly educated immigrants whose families collect more in welfare benefits than they pay in taxes. There are still some problems with it, though. Where I work we hired a woman from Bangladesh with a physics degree. If someone has a physics degree they must be smart, right? It turned out she was very unimpressive as a worker. South Asian college degrees may not be the equivalent of American ones.

You also have the problem that only NW Europeans, especially Anglos, have developed high trust societies with low levels of corruption. To a limited extent some East Asian countries like Japan, South Korea but not North Korea, Singapore and Hong Kong but not China have also done so. You can see what they have in common is that they have come under Anglo influence. India was certainly under Anglo influence during the era of British control but seems to have been resistant to Anglo influence. It would not be a good idea letting large numbers of them into the United States, Canada, Australia or Great Britain.

Derb, you are correct. I spent over 4 decades in IT, beginning with keypunching Hollerith cards and ending up maintaining data warehouses and Web-based applications. Over that span of time, I witnessed many ‘silver bullets’: CASE tools, client/server, 4GL, relational databases, object oriented programming, the Web, RUP, Agile, outsourcing, affirmative action/diversity hiring, H1B staffing, and now cloud sourcing. None of the previously mentioned tools/methodologies/strategies improved productivity, reduced coding errors, created more stable and maintainable code base, or improved development time – it was always about ruthlessly reducing cost. Literally, it was always about how little can be spent to maintain the IT status quo environment while treading the line of crashing the organization into informational chaos.

Before retiring, the last push I experienced was a combination of laying off/retiring the ‘old salts’ who knew and understood both the history and the ins-and-outs of status quo systems, replacing them with 3rd world H1B workers – unproductive but submissive (and unwilling to make waves by asking important, difficult questions), bringing in supervisors/management with no IT experience or knowledge, and moving things to ‘the cloud’ – not realizing that once the IT shop isn’t in-house anymore, overall control of the organization’s IT destiny – as well as vital, historical institutional knowledge – is lost forever.

Not to put too fine a point on it: H1B Indian IT personnel are ideal to management because they thoroughly understand the hierarchy/caste system, are compliant, are relatively cheap, and are disposable. Innovative, original, quality driven, and productive they are not.

God help us.

This I observed at Amazon. I started (maintenance, separate company) in Calgary and you could observe a rough quota, perhaps simply due to the random nature of their process (first come first serve). Higher positions were part Indian, part African, part Asian, part European white THEN a little bit of Canadian white. After two years the Indians had elbowed out the competition and the results on the metrics were drastic – we had been “site of the year” 2019 (due largely to having two controls leads, extra time spent finely adjusting camera angles etc.) and by 2020 we were falling to other sites – or back to the pack basically.

Then I moved to the new Amazon in Edmonton, in the SE corner of the city. The Indian corner. So management STARTED predominately Indian. It was fucked from the start. Dysfunctional to the max.

The interesting wrinkle here is observable in Vancouver (Surrey) and Calgary (NE Calgary). They have sequestered themselves so separately in cities and in neighborhoods, that a secession could easily be bloodless and economically removed. If seen ahead of time and planned for.

I spent my early life growing up with Sikhs, mostly up north. Some notes:

1) They were westerners trapped in an eastern country, they are entrepreneurial and they’ve rejected the caste system. Even Muslim Pakistanis I’ve known (and lived with) are still stuck partly in the caste system, roughly along skin tone lines – lighter is higher. The same colorism you see in the Philipinnes for example.

2) They get along with the English for the reasons listed and were more than willing to join on to oppress the other Indians through warfare (which was sort of following the historical pattern anyway).

3) We are witnessing the birth of a new nation here in Canada – the Western Sikh. They want their heritage and they want the wealth of the west. I wish them luck, hopefully when we split they save some of the “magic dirt” – I’m joking of course they are bringing just enough corruption and crime to remain basically India West. I’d like to say they’re halfway in between but that still will make them poor, say like the Irish and other Catholic peoples. Too much gangsterism.

4) In the early 80s in Fort Nelson BC, town of 1500, they had to be separated by shift at the mill from the few Hindus.

5) In Mackenzie BC, many Sikhs already there (industrial 1970s town soviet-style), one family of Hindus moved in – they killed the patriarch by burying him up to his head in garbage and throwing rocks at him. Family moved out.

When (not if) Canada balkanizes they will be a semi-functional piece that the other pieces can do business with.

Unlike the Chinese parts, which will be hated by native Chinese and whose dealings with Sikhs and whites are already showing signs of separation and incompatibility.

Same thing with the young African men flooding across the Mediterranean, and they’re readily being accepted in, put up in hotels. Are the elites doing this out of benevolence, out of guilt?
