The reality is that most of us are not ready for the truth. We want reassurance. We cling to our comfort blankets because the idea that we live in a world in which our and our families’ interests are not paramount is too disturbing.
The idea that our fates are entirely dependent on a giant Ponzi scheme that might come crashing down at any moment from any one of multiple design flaws – an ecological crisis, a nuclear catastrophe, a pandemic or a hubristic mis-step with Artificial Intelligence – is simply too terrifying.
So, even as we mock a figurehead like Donald Trump, Joe Biden or Boris Johnson, we remain deeply invested in the system that keeps producing them. We need to believe – and just as desperately as a child refusing, a little longer, to give in to suspicions that Father Christmas might not exist. Despite all the evidence to the contrary, our societies, we insist, are on a continuous upwards trajectory named progress.
Few are willing to consider that we might actually be in a death spiral. So instead of doing something to change the world, we bury our heads. We ignore every sign, however blatant, of the system’s inherent dysfunction and corruption.
Horse dewormer
These dark thoughts are prompted in part by the very belated concession from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) – whispered by government lawyers in a court hearing – that for two years it has been peddling disinformation about both Ivermectin and the fact that doctors were not authorised to prescribe it in the treatment of Covid.
Ok, let’s pause right there. Because already I sense you reaching for the remote to change channels. Isn’t Ivermectin a horse drug that only anti-vaxxers and Covid deniers ever talk about?
Before I lose you entirely, let me hurriedly issue a disclaimer. This piece isn’t really about Ivermectin – least of all its efficacy in the treatment of Covid. I’m not a doctor and I’m not qualified to judge. I talk about things I am familiar with, that I have some insight on.
I’m not interested in medical debates about Ivermectin. I’m interested in deconstructing the political debates around it – and what they tell us about the way medical matters, and much else besides, have been entirely captured by political and commercial interests.
I can assure you I have no shares in Ivermectin and won’t profit either way, whether its use increases or declines. Unlike Big Pharma, that’s not the reason I’m taking an interest.
It just so happens that Ivermectin is a particularly fascinating case study – both of the corruption of our governance and regulatory systems, and of our own unwillingness to recognise that corruption out of fear of what it might signify.
Ivermectin provides one more data point that might help drag each of us out of our carefully constructed cocoon of ideological comfort.

This article can be seen as a follow-up to my recent piece on the refusal by precisely the same actors – Big Pharma, medical regulators, the corporate media – to investigate why over the past two years far higher numbers of people than was to be expected have been dying across the Western world of unexplained causes not related to Covid.
Both of these post-pandemic issues ought to make us angry, and more willing to fight for our species’ survival.
‘Merely quips’
After all, the general assumption that Ivermectin is a horse dewormer didn’t come from nowhere. It was a view cultivated in us by the FDA and the corporate media. Here is the tweet the agency sent out exactly two years ago to persuade us that only dangerous nutjobs talk about Ivermectin:
I am guessing that those 108,000 likes make it one of the most influential tweets ever by the FDA. There is a reason why it went so viral.
The corporate media worked overtime to promote exactly the same messaging: that Ivermectin was only good for horses and cows. The media echoed the FDA in implying very strongly that the drug’s use in humans was not safe. There was not a late-night show host who did not mock Ivermectin as a horse drug and ridicule its supporters, even leading doctors.
Super-star podcaster Joe Rogan’s admission that he had been prescribed Ivermectin by his doctor when he fell ill with Covid were enough to foment demands for his banning from social media for spreading misinformation.
Social media giants like Youtube played their own part, treating any reference to Ivermectin, in pretty much any positive context, even by doctors, as “misinformation”. The algorithms were adjusted accordingly, which is why I will have to avoid mentioning Ivermectin when I post this story on social media.
And yet now, two years on, the FDA is quietly admitting that it, not Rogan, outright lied. Ivermectin isn’t a medicine used only by vets. It’s a human drug that’s been prescribed billions of times – and so successfully that it won the Nobel prize for medicine in 2015. A leading science journal called it a “wonder drug” in 2017 – before the pandemic changed what could be said publicly – highlighting “its unexpected potential as an antibacterial, antiviral and anti-cancer agent”.
It is the FDA – not Rogan – now admitting that Ivermectin is safe and that doctors, including Rogan’s, do indeed have the authority to prescribe the drug, not just to treat parasites but to treat Covid too.
It was tweets like the one above that instigated a witch-hunt by US state medical boards against doctors who prescribed Ivermectin, the matter at the heart of the case currently before the 5th US Circuit Court of Appeals.
With the FDA’s statements about Ivermectin now being harshly criticised by the judges hearing the case, the US government has fallen back on the barely credible argument that its comments were meant as “merely quips”.
So why would the FDA lie about Ivermectin – and maintain that lie for at least two years until forced to come clean under cross-examination by the courts?
And why did all those expert medical correspondents working for Big Media, journalists who knew only too well that Ivermectin was a human drug, conspire with the FDA in promoting a blatant lie?
Here, for example, is Dr Sunjay Gupta of CNN being put on the spot by Rogan when he appeared on his show. He is forced to admit, uncomfortably, that the media were not telling the truth about Ivermectin.
Emergency use
Which brings us to the politics surrounding Ivermectin – which is far more revelatory than any medical debate about it.
Remember, the FDA’s drug division receives three-quarters of its funding from the pharmaceutical industry. That doesn’t just mean the continuing salaries of many thousands of government officials depend on keeping Big Pharma happy. It also ensures wider political pressures. Washington prefers not to alienate Big Pharma and then have to foot the FDA’s budget through higher taxes. And, as we shall see, leading politicians have every incentive to avoid picking a fight with a corporate America.
The reality is that Ivermectin and other drugs that might have been repurposed for Covid posed an enormous threat in principle to the FDA and its funders in Big Pharma – completely aside from the practical question of whether those drugs actually work against Covid.
The new, experimental mRNA vaccines could only be rushed out for use in humans on the basis of an emergency authorisation so long as no other drug could be shown to be an effective treatment for Covid.
Well, that was a good thing, I hear you say. Those vaccines reduced the severest symptoms, even if sadly they didn’t actually stop transmission.
Let’s pull back a second and try to see the bigger picture for a moment. Let’s do precisely what the FDA and Pfizer don’t want us to do: engage our critical faculties.
Ivermectin has been off-patent for years. No one can make any serious money from it, and certainly not giant pharmaceuticals based in the United States. Any Indian factory with the right approvals can knock out the tablets for a few cents.
So in short, Big Pharma, which was poised to become fabulously enriched by its new vaccines, had every financial incentive imaginable to make sure there were no rivals in the stakes for a Covid miracle cure. The focus had to be entirely and exclusively on the vaccines.
Endless profiteering
The corporate media had exactly the same priorities. Why?
A superficial, if truthful analysis is that companies like Pfizer subsidise the corporate media as heavily as they do the FDA. Just watch this short compilation video to get a sense of quite how complete Big Pharma’s stranglehold of sponsorship is on the main TV networks:
But a deeper analysis is that Big Pharma and Big Media are just separate wings of the same Big Business empire headquartered in the US. What’s good for Big Pharma is good for Big Weapons is good for Big Farming is good for Big Food is good for Big Media, and so on.
What is important for all of them is the maintenance of a political and economic climate that allows for Big Everything’s permanent profiteering. What is good for one of them is good for all.
So Ivermectin was never going to be allowed a look-in, irrespective of whether it worked.
But that doesn’t really matter, I hear you interject, because Ivermectin doesn’t work against Covid.
And how do we know that? The anwer is we don’t. Our assumption that Ivermectin is useless against Covid is nothing more than that. It is an assumption. Some studies suggest it doesn’t help, while others suggest possible effectiveness.
Medicine has an established way to deal with such uncertainties. It settles them with an expensive, large-scale, randomised, controlled study.
In a time of profound crisis such as a pandemic, politics has an additional way to settle such questions: move heaven and earth to carry out emergency trials of drugs that look like they may be suitable for repurposing against the threat. Shift into a war footing.
Which is exactly what would have happened – not just for Ivermectin but for other promising potential treatments like the mis-named sunshine hormone Vitamin D – if we lived in a world in which scientific principles, not profiteering by a tiny wealth-elite, guided our societies’ decisions.
Instead, all of us – even children who were under no threat from Covid – were forced to worship exclusively at the altar of the novel vaccines.
That should make your blood boil.
Many millions of people died. Some of them might have been helped through the use of safe, potentially beneficial treatments before the vaccines were rolled out.
Some of those who refused to take the vaccines – the heretics – might have had their lives saved through the approval of other treatments.
Everyone, even the vaccinated and multi-boosted, might have had even better outcomes with the help of treatments to complement the vaccines.
Instead, the response to the pandemic prioritised one thing only: not saving lives, but maximising to the greatest extent possible the profits of Big Pharma.
I don’t know whether Ivermectin would have helped. You don’t know whether it would have helped. But what’s important – what is scandalous – is that the FDA doesn’t know either, and still doesn’t care to know whether lives would have been saved through the use of treatments in place of, or in addition to, the vaccines.
That is a violation both of fundamental medical ethics and of the social contract. I can barely believe I need to spell it out – and even less that I will be called irresponsible for doing so by the vaccine cultists.
Smears and insinuation
The issue isn’t whether Ivermectin works against Covid. That narrow issue is the one Big Pharma, Big Media and the FDA want you focusing on. Because they have made sure the question will only ever be settled in the arena of official smear amd insinuation, in misleading social media soundbites like the FDA’s horse drug one.
That isn’t science, it’s propaganda.
If the FDA has good arguments against Ivermectin, it needs to use them, not play mind games with us – games that can have only one possible outcome: further eroding public trust in our compromised, financially captured medical authorities. Revealingly, those most worried about the “Trump misinformation threat” are also the ones, it seems, least concerned about the FDA’s record of promoting falsehoods.
To run a controlled trial of Ivermectin for treating Covid – even now, three years too late – costs a small fortune. One that can be afforded only by Big Pharma or governments. And in the circumstances, neither has any interest to find out.
Why does this matter? It shouldn’t need stating. But from reactions on social media, I see that it very much does.
It matters because it shows that we live in a world where “facts” are of no interest, where science is not followed, unless it can be monetised. Science is no longer for the benefit of all. It has become private property – the property of powerful, unaccountable corporations – like everything else in our societies. Science has been weaponised to further enrich a corrupt wealth-elite.
It matters because, if we continue to resign ourselves so passively to these constant mind-games and manipulations, we must also accept that the profiteering they conceal should take priority over our health, over saving lives.
Ivermectin isn’t the issue. It’s a waymark: to the depths of corruption to which our supposedly Enlightened, rational civilisation has been sunk by money and its worship.

It is interesting that Cook can write this about the FDA, CDC and the pharma industry but cannot seem to connect the dots when talking about the clot shots, especially given his last article.
There is more afoot than just endless profiteering. The ultimate goal behind this is complete control over humanity (after a sizeable population reduction).
Perhaps Cook knows this but is too afraid to come out and say it. Or perhaps it is just taking him time to deal with the ramifications of what he is slowly unpacking for himself.

Ivermectin does work.
I infer this from the fact that virtually everything the authorities said about Covid was a lie. So, when they said IVM doesn’t work, they were lying. It does work.
Consider the official statements that were made that ivermectin doesn’t work and is dangerous in light of the following facts:
1) Ivermectin is harmless at a normal dose. No known drug is safer.
2) Successful treatment with ivermectin would have prevented Big Pharma from getting emergency use authorization (EUA) for its highly profitable vaccines.
By law, emergency use authorization is only granted if there are no other viable treatments.
EUA approval also means vaccine manufacturers can’t be sued no matter how negligent they are.
3) FDA, CDC, NIH and NIAID are heavily funded by Big Pharma. They are not independent. They serve Big Pharma, not the American people. WHO is heavily funded by Bill Gates.
4) Everything the authorities said about Covid was a deliberate lie.
3.4% mortality? Lie. They knew it was 0.2% mortality by mid-2020. They overstated the mortality by 1700%.
Covid a threat to everyone? Lie. They knew it only threatened the very elderly and those with preexisting conditions and lowered immunity.
Masks needed? Lie. They knew all along that masks can’t stop you from getting or transmitting airborne viruses. It would be like putting up a chain link fence to keep flies out of your yard.
Covid tests accurate? Lie. The inventor of the PCR test used to diagnose Covid said it couldn’t diagnose anything. CDC finally admitted that 95% of “Covid deaths” had comorbidities (other causes of death) and only 5% didn’t.
Vaccines safe? Lie. They never did the testing that was needed in order to determine how safe they were. They never followed up reports of alleged vaccine-related deaths and injuries to determine what happened. Inserts that normally come with medications telling you the risks and side effects were totally blank for the Covid vaccines.
Hospitals overwhelmed? Lie. The hospital ship sent to New York City was never used. The refurbished Javits Center was hardly used at all. Hospitals were so empty that TikTok was filled with videos of dancing nurses who had nothing else to do.
If they were lying about all of these things — and more — they were certainly lying about ivermectin. They said it doesn’t work. Translation: It works.
There is also the moral dimension to consider: Pressuring, forcing or deceiving people into taking an experimental vaccine is a violation of the Nuremberg Code. They knew this and violated the code anyway. All the vaccines given in the U.S. were experimental.
In sum, these people are evil liars, and any intelligent, informed person would have done what he could to get his hands on some ivermectin as quickly as possible. What would he have had to lose by trying it out, considering that the “health” authorities had told him not to do anything until he couldn’t breathe and then go to the hospital to be given remdesivir and put on a ventilator (80% death rate)?
Not only did the “health” authorities lie about ivermectin; they did everything they could to prevent it from being used, including removing the licenses of doctors who prescribed it.
How stupid would you have to be to not turn to an alternative that — at worst — wouldn’t help but also wouldn’t hurt? How stupid? As stupid as most people are nowadays.
A lot of that stupidity is the result of Trump Derangement Syndrome. The Trump haters’ capacity for being reasonable was completely undone by their hatred of Trump. The fact that Trump disagreed with Democrat Fauci (Trump was right and Fauci was wrong about ending the lockdown by Easter of 2020) was enough for them to worship Fauci as a god.
Fauci is an evil man who deliberately spread fear by coyly suggesting that AIDS could be caught through casual contact; an evil man who funded experiments in which beagles were tortured to death; an evil man who said gain of function experiments that might cause a deadly pandemic were “worth the risk”.

Your whole argument rests on the idea that the Big Pharma had a hidden anti-Ivermectin agenda… but this is nonsense. Ivermectin *is* a product of Big Pharma – specifically of Merck & Co, multi-national company number 71 on Fortune 500 list, as per Wikipedia.
There are two versions of the drug: one approved for animals and another one for humans. The meme about you not being a horse came about because people desperate to get their hands on this wonder drug started to procure the animal version.
Ivermectin is not proprietary and can be sold by any company, therefore the profit margin for ivermectin is miniscule for Big Pharma.
Ivermectin is the active molecule and there is only one version of that molecule. When you say “two versions” you are referring to formulations, not versions of the same active molecule. The formulation for horses is very simple, ivermectin and a flavorant formulated as a paste. Provided one can calculate the amount of the paste needed based on the ivermectin concentration in the paste and the daily dose per kilogram body weight needed for a human, it is simple matter to correctly apportion the horse paste for human usage.

Agree with nearly everything. The lies and distortion are routine. For example, a year or so ago I was interested in using regular over the counter iodine in slightly off-label ways: as a gargle or as a nasal spray. There are even a few niche products like that. That makes my following comments all the more interesting. If you research on google say, using iodine as a gargle, you will get admonitions about how it’s an unapproved use, and that iodine is toxic and may cause health problems. OK, now to concentrate on this latter claim. I don’t especially want to be poisoned. I did some reading about just how toxic iodine is. Short answer is you’d have to ingest a ridiculous amount, literally hundreds if not thousands of times what one would potentially absorb in a single dose. Since most consumer concentrations are in about the 2% by volume, that makes the government warnings all the more ludicrous. It’s all scare tactics, but to what end? Sure, there are idiots who will read that “Iodine spray prevents Covid-19” or whatever and then find a way to OD and earn a trip to the hospital to have their stomach pumped or whatever. Pardon the long ramble, but I just wanted to share it as yet another data point of the powers that be making a mountain out of a mole hill. Mr. Cook and I would surely agree that the FDA behaved very badly, but in my opinion Mr. Cook’s work here was quite sloppy.

The Big Insurance Companies were delighted to have a cheap treatment for Covid. The less money they spend on patients, the fatter their profits. Indeed, if you happen to have a really expensive affliction. the best possible outcome from their point of view is that you die quickly. This is the reasoning for the instant Denial Of Treatment we see so much of these days. In my car – and in most of my jacket pockets – are nasal spray bottles of both simple saline as well as ones I’ve carefully added enough povidone Iodine to get to a .05% concentration. Anytime I’m feeling unlucky, I treat the old nasal passages with one or the other.
Gargle? Also in my car is a little bottle of mouthwash with 25% Ethanol. Listerine or Store Brand Copycats work fine. The mouthwash has a nice side benefit of disinfecting a scratch or cut till I get to a place where I can wash the wound with soapy water and put on a proper bandage. Bacterial infections are very real, and so is growing Antibiotic Resistance. (though I won’t be surprised to eventually see an article here denying one or both of those items)

I have “fired” several drs from the major hospital over getting an IVM prescription since 2020.
End of 3Q21, I finally got a large script for IVM (3000 mg of pills!) for prophylaxis, exposure and early acute treatment, after various promises and pleadings. Legal prescribed carry for lengthy travel was one of the major cites.
In the mean time, end of 1Q21, we found more informed sources and true believers of IVM that had created an emergency distribution niche, courtesy of a crusading dr, but under constant government threat, disruption, and harrassment. Turning various shades of highly restricted white, gray and black market as legal and political battles raged on.

Hard as a rock and nasty tasting.
After this, most pharmacy IVM requests were denied as “out of stock”.
When I finally did fill another official IVm at the pharmacy, the clerks very pointedly **photographed** my paper scrip. Possibly to re-educate or punish the dr. Never in 40 years overseas have I seen such a circus on an rx.

There should be no ‘licensing’ of doctors or anyone else. I got covid early 2020 before the jab. Found out about ivermectin. Since I had been using it for my animals for over 15 years, I tried it and it worked. For some reason, my animals seem to live fairly long lives. Of course, this is anectdotal, but I never have trusted doctors much. Never took the jab because natural immunity. Don’t care what others say. If you want to have 40 boosters, knock yourself out. By the way, I used the liquid form.
Ivermectin is used extensively in cow/calf operations. Two predominant methods are injection and pour on. The pour-on method is handy, pour a bead of the solution down the back while the cow is in a head chute or spray on a herd of cattle while the are eating grain. The spray method has led to widespread parasite resistance since the dose is often less than prescribed and some of the parasites survive.
Also ivermectin, even in minuscule amounts, is extremely effective at killing horn flies and lice on cattle. After years of ranchers misting ivermectin over their herds to control horn flies, it’s effectiveness at controlling internal parasites has declined almost to the point of ineffectiveness in many ranching areas.
The elderly couple at the feed store I frequent, have been taking a dose of the injectable ivermectin in their coffee once a week since the beginning of covid.

It’s true that children don’t die nearly as often from Covid as do adults, but the claim they’re under no threat is nonsense. One article remarked in passing that virtually all US children have had Covid, and even the lying CDC admits to a figure of 75%.
There may not be any immediate effects of an infection, but that virus is inside of every kid and will remain there as they grow. I predict that the health profile of the maturing and aging current children will be different from that of adults who grew up pre-Covid.
I’ve seen more than one blogger speculating that the increasing numbers of adults suddenly going ape*hit – for no apparent reason – in public settings where they get photographed is on account of the damage done to their brains by the virus load within their bodies. And it’s not just the brain the Covid virus is silently chewing away on.

When I was a child I went through a very traumatic event that manifested itself in my behavior. I went from being a very happy, always laughing, smiling young boy to being disruptive in school, failing in my grades, and became increasingly violent.
My parents brought me to a variety of different doctors to find out what might have caused this change, and to seek cure. The cure prescribed by these doctors was to place me on behavior modification medications such as Ritalin, and Haldol. The Ritalin caused sever depression, memory loss for extended periods of time, and only amplified the violent tendencies. The Haldol caused an allergic reaction putting me into a seizure. I was also placed in a boy’s home where I lived for four and a half years where sexual abuse was prevalent, and where the staff regularly hit the children adding to the existing trauma.
When I was old enough to say no more to these pharma/main stream medical approaches to treatment, I did. I was not quite eighteen at this point. At sixty one years of age I have not even taken an aspirin for over a decade, use garlic in my diet on a near daily basis, daily I consume turmeric, and over 3000 mg of Vitamin C in a drink, and I do not eat processed food making meals entirely from scratch. I use fresh fruit & vegetables daily, eat localy raised meat (just got my 1/2 pig for the year), use very little sugar in my diet, and drink Hibiscus tea daily to help keep blood pressue in a good range. Although my body feels the affects of years of physical labor in the form of arthritic issues, outside of that I am very healthy, and have been again for sometime that person that I started life out as. I would note also that it has been since 2013 that I have even had a common cold, or other illness that has caused bed rest.
I believe in the western medical system to repair major damages having had several surgeries to correct mostly work related injuries. But outside of that I am a firm believer in using the natural tools that this earth provides us to treat most maladies. Based on these data (and more) I bought a supply of Ivermectin just in case. I later contracted Omicron, and near the end of the first day I saw the symptoms were not responding to my standard treatments of aspirin, throat spray, and rest. And they matched the symptoms of Omicron described on a website. So I took 6 mg of Ivermectin, and the symptoms were gone within an hour. The next day the symptoms had returned, so I repeated the Ivermectin treatment, and again the symptoms were gone within an hour, and I went on to have a perfectly normal day. After about 5 days of this the symptoms no longer returned.
In my experience the Ivermectin was fantastically effective. And it had no side effects. It seemed very clean. A friend of mine had a similar experience using Ivermectin for the Delta variant.
To me it is plain as day that the campaign to demonize Ivermectin was orchestrated from a central control, maliciously.

I have taught courses on the statistical analysis of data and experimental design. I read the meta-analysis paper discussed in this video some time ago.
This man’s commentary is amateurish at best. For instance, he wonders why the meta-analysis eliminated some articles for consideration. The authors explain clearly that their goal was to select the most well-designed studies. Studies were eliminated that had various weakness in their experimental design. The fact taht he does not even mention this plainly stated and obviously rational aspect of the methodology makes me conclude he is not even trying to be honest.
I don’t know who he is, but I do know the oligarchy has no trouble finding people to act out their scripts. Rachel Maddow, for example, is extremely good at seeming sincere and trustworthy while she lies to your face.

I am aware that the blood/brain barrier can be breached, at least by some viruses. You may well be right that the virus might linger in some cases (particularly in the ‘vaccinated’ I would add) and re-emerge at a later date, that does seem to be possible, even likely. We are dealing with what is almost certainly a virus created by gain of function research after all.
However, autopsies of people that have died, seemingly of ‘vaccine’ related injuries, show inflammations of both heart and brain in conjunction with accumulations of Covid spike protein but without the covid-19 capsid proteins. That suggests the ‘vaccine’ was responsible rather than the virus (if the virus was responsible you would expect the other viral proteins to be present)
Given the choice between a speculative explanation and another that has been actually demonstrated, I would tend to go with the latter.

I recently learned* that even the so-called “gold standard” of research, the double-blind placebo controlled test, is far from foolproof. In a few sentences: If a huge study (thousands of test subjects, many years, hundreds of millions of dollars) is required to show that an intervention produced a difference compared to control/no intervention, it’s likely that intervention is of very little value. I have personally looked at several such studies and read about many more. For example, from my own investigations I can confirm that for primary prevention, statins, hypertension medication and aspirin make very little difference in whether one takes them or not. With the assumption that the studies were as objective as possible, there are benefits, but they are extremely small. Yet these are some of the most widely-used interventions in the world. It’s my understanding that a whole panopoly of medical interventions are broadly in the same category: they are little better than snake oil. And they make enormous profits for the medical-industrial complex. It sounds great when the Pharma ad, or your doctor, heavily influenced by same, enthusiastically tells you that taking drug X will reduce your chances of heart attack by 50% or strke by 43%. And that may even be statistically true. What they won’t tell you is that Drug X inevitably brings side effects, sometimes serious, and that it costs somebody some money. And in some cases, it may not extend your lifespan by more than a minute amount. The Covid-19 “vaccines” are likely the worst example: half-assed research, little or no proof of safety or even efficacy, marketed or even mandated for billions. Taking some drugs, including the vax, may even be worse than doing nothing. This isn’t health care, and it’s not in the pateint’s best interests. And sadly, I suspect this exemplifies the majority of “health care” in the modern world.

I am not here to look up ALL the facts on ivermectin and its development by Merck in the 1970s, but I know a fair bit about its usefulness as a parasiticide in animals and humans. I have used it on thousands of animals. I have also seen it kill a fair number of dogs overdosed by using the large animal preparation–there is this thing called drug concentration. Furthermore, ivermectins were evaluated by Merck for virucidal activity in the 1970s and 1980s. Unfortunately, Merck’s hope of making billions more, failed to show ivermectin’s efficacy as a killer of viruses–here is another tip–viruses are NOT living entities, parasites are living entities. Finally, I encourage people to access poison control centers everywhere about the number of human cases of ivermectin overdose–it is not a pretty picture. The internet, including wikipedia, is not always the best source of evidence-based science.
This is true. Pleiotropic. According to Cardiologist and author Malcolm Kendrick, an example of this are the statins. Leaving aside their harmful effects, they really DO “lower cholesterol” which has been medical dogma for at least 3 decades (and is probably very wrong.) If lowering total cholesterol or LDL was really of benefit, then earlier (or even later!) non-statin agents would have shown decreased mortality. In most cases there was no change or even an increase. In the 1980s when statins were found to really reduce cardiovascular incidents and even (slightly) lower all-cause deaths, they were hailed as some miracle drug. At least before the patents expired, they surely did generate billions of dollars in profits for Pharma. In reality, at best they are of some limited benefit to some patients. Sorry for the detour. Bottom line: whatever benefits statins offer, it is likely due to pleiotropic effects, not that they affect lipid levels.
