Podcast Interview: They Were White and They Were Slaves: The Untold Story of Enslavement of Whites in Early America.
In 1997, Prime Minister Paul Keating of Australia refused to show “proper respect” to Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II during her state visit. In response, Terry Dicks, a Conservative member of the British Parliament said, “It’s a country of ex-convicts, so we should not be surprised by the rudeness of their prime minister.”A slur such as this would be considered unthinkable if it were uttered against any other class or race of people except the descendants of White slavery. Dicks’ remark is not only offensive, it is ignorant and false. Most of Australia’s “convicts” were shipped into servitude for such “crimes” as stealing seven yards of lace, cutting trees on an aristocrat’s estate or poaching sheep to feed a starving family.
The arrogant disregard for the holocaust visited upon the poor and working class Whites of Britain by the aristocracy continues in our time because the history of that epoch has been almost completely extirpated from our collective memory.
When White servitude is acknowledged as having existed in America, it is almost always termed as temporary “indentured servitude” or part of the convict trade, which, after the Revolution of 1776, centered on Australia instead of America. The “convicts” transported to America under the 1723 Waltham Act, perhaps numbered 100,000.
The indentured servants who served a tidy little period of 4 to 7 years polishing the master’s silver and china and then taking their place in colonial high society, were a minuscule fraction of the great unsung hundreds of thousands of White slaves who were worked to death in this country from the early l7th century onward.
Up to one-half of all the arrivals in the American colonies were Whites slaves and they were America’s first slaves. These Whites were slaves for life, long before Blacks ever were. This slavery was even hereditary. White children born to White slaves were enslaved too.
Whites were auctioned on the block with children sold and separated from their parents and wives sold and separated from their husbands. Free Black property owners strutted the streets of northern and southern American cities while White slaves were worked to death in the sugar mills of Barbados and Jamaica and the plantations of Virginia.
The Establishment has created the misnomer of “indentured servitude” to explain away and minimize the fact of White slavery. But bound Whites in early America called themselves slaves. Nine-tenths of the White slavery in America was conducted without indentures of any kind but according to the so-called “custom of the country,” as it was known, which was lifetime slavery administered by the White slave merchants themselves.
In George Sandys laws for Virginia, Whites were enslaved “forever.” The service of Whites bound to Berkeley’s Hundred was deemed “perpetual.” These accounts have been policed out of the much touted “standard reference works” such as Abbott Emerson Smith’s laughable whitewash, Colonists in Bondage.
I challenge any researcher to study 17th century colonial America, sifting the documents, the jargon and the statutes on both sides of the Atlantic and one will discover that White slavery was a far more extensive operation than Black enslavement. It is when we come to the 18th century that one begins to encounter more “servitude” on the basis of a contract of indenture. But even in that period there was kidnapping of Anglo-Saxons into slavery as well as convict slavery.
In 1855, Frederic Law Olmsted, the landscape architect who designed New York’s Central Park, was in Alabama on a pleasure trip and saw bales of cotton being thrown from a considerable height into a cargo ship’s hold. The men tossing the bales somewhat recklessly into the hold were Negroes, the men in the hold were Irish.
Olmsted inquired about this to a shipworker. “Oh,” said the worker, “the niggers are worth too much to be risked here; if the Paddies are knocked overboard or get their backs broke, nobody loses anything.”
Before British slavers traveled to Africa’s western coast to buy Black slaves from African chieftains, they sold their own White working class kindred (“the surplus poor” as they were known) from the streets and towns of England, into slavery. Tens of thousands of these White slaves were kidnapped children. In fact the very origin of the word kidnapped is kid-nabbed, the stealing of White children for enslavement.
According to the English Dictionary of the Underworld, under the heading kidnapper is the following definition: “A stealer of human beings, esp. of children; originally for exportation to the plantations of North America.” The center of the trade in child-slaves was in the port cities of Britain and Scotland: “Press gangs in the hire of local merchants roamed the streets, seizing ‘by force such boys as seemed proper subjects for the slave trade.’ Children were driven in flocks through the town and confined for shipment in barns…So flagrant was the practice that people in the countryside about Aberdeen avoided bringing children into the city for fear they might be stolen; and so widespread was the collusion of merchants, shippers, suppliers and even magistrates that the man who exposed it was forced to recant and run out of town.” (Van der Zee,Bound Over, p. 210).
White slaves transported to the colonies suffered a staggering loss of life in the 17th and 18th century. During the voyage to America it was customary to keep the White slaves below deck for the entire nine to twelve week journey. A White slave would be confined to a hole not more than sixteen feet long, chained with 50 other men to a board, with padlocked collars around their necks. The weeks of confinement below deck in the ship’s stifling hold often resulted in outbreaks of contagious disease which would sweep through the “cargo” of White “freight” chained in the bowels of the ship.
Ships carrying White slaves to America often lost half their slaves to death. According to historian Sharon V. Salinger, “Scattered data reveal that the mortality for [White] servants at certain times equaled that for [Black] slaves in the ‘middle passage,’ and during other periods actually exceeded the death rate for [Black] slaves.” Salinger reports a death rate of ten to twenty percent over the entire 18th century for Black slaves on board ships enroute to America compared with a death rate of 25% for White slaves enroute to America.
Foster R. Dulles writing in Labor in America: A History, states that whether convicts, children ‘spirited’ from the countryside or political prisoners, White slaves “experienced discomforts and sufferings on their voyage across the Atlantic that paralleled the cruel hardships undergone by negro slaves on the notorious Middle Passage.”
Dulles says the Whites were “indiscriminately herded aboard the ‘white guineamen,’ often as many as 300 passengers on little vessels of not more than 200 tons burden–overcrowded, unsanitary…The mortality rate was sometimes as high as 50% and young children seldom survived the horrors of a voyage which might last anywhere from seven to twelve weeks.”
Independent investigator A.B. Ellis in the Argosywrites concerning the transport of White slaves, “The human cargo, many of whom were still tormented by unhealed wounds, could not all lie down at once without lying on each other. They were never suffered to go on deck. The hatchway was constantly watched by sentinels armed with hangers and blunder busses. In the dungeons below all was darkness, stench, lamentation, disease and death.”
Marcus Jernegan describes the greed of the shipmasters which led to horrendous loss of life for White slaves transported to America:
“The voyage over often repeated the horrors of the famous ‘middle passage’ of slavery fame. An average cargo was three hundred, but the shipmaster, for greater profit, would sometimes crowd as many as six hundred into a small vessel…The mortality under such circumstances was tremendous, sometimes more than half…Mittelberger (an eyewitness) says he saw thirty-two children thrown into the ocean during one voyage.”
“The mercantile firms, as importers of (White) servants, were not too careful about their treatment, as the more important purpose of the transaction was to get ships over to South Carolina which could carry local produce back to Europe. Consequently the Irish–as well as others–suffered greatly…It was almost as if the British merchants had redirected their vessels from the African coast to the Irish coast, with the white servants coming over in much the same fashion as the African slaves.” (Warren B. Smith,White Servitude in Colonial South Carolina).
A study of the middle passage of White slaves was included in a Parliamentary Petition of 1659. It reported that White slaves were locked below deck for two weeks while the slaveship was still in port. Once under way, they were “all the way locked up under decks…amongst horses.” They were chained from their legs to their necks.
Those academics who insist that slavery is an exclusively Black racial condition forget or deliberately omit the fact that the word slave originally was a reference to Whites of East European origin – “Slavs.”
Moreover, in the 18th century in Britain and America, the Industrial Revolution spawned the factory system whose first laborers were miserably oppressed White children as young as six years of age. They were locked in the factories for sixteen hours a day and mangled by the primitive machinery. Hands and arms were regularly ripped to pieces. Little girls often had their hair caught in the machinery and were scalped from their foreheads to the back of their necks.
White Children wounded and crippled in the factories were turned out without compensation of any kind and left to die of their injuries. Children late to work or who fell asleep were beaten with iron bars. Lest we imagine these horrors were limited to only the early years of the Industrial Revolution, eight and ten year old White children throughout America were hard at work in miserable factories and mines as late as 1920.
Because of the rank prostitution, stupidity and cowardice of America’s teachers and educational system, White youth are taught that Black slaves, Mexican peons and Chinese coolies built this country while the vast majority of the Whites lorded it over them with a lash in one hand and a mint julep in the other.
The documentary record tells a very different story, however. When White Congressman David Wilmot authored the Wilmot Proviso to keep Black slaves out of the American West he did so, he said, to preserve that vast expanse of territory for “the sons of toil, my own race and color.”
This is precisely what most White people in America were, “sons of toil,” performing backbreaking labor such as few of us today can envision. They had no paternalistic welfare system; no Freedman’s Bureau to coo sweet platitudes to them; no army of bleeding hearts to worry over their hardships. These Whites were the expendable frontline soldiers in the expansion of the American frontier. They won the country, felled the trees, cleared and planted the land. The wealthy, educated White elite in America are the sick heirs of what Charles Dickens in Bleak Housetermed “telescopic philanthropy”–the concern for the condition of distant peoples while the plight of kindred in one’s own backyard are ignored.
Today much of what we see on “Turner Television” and Pat Robertson’s misnamed “Family Channel,” are TV films depicting Blacks in chains, Blacks being whipped, Blacks oppressed. Nowhere can we find a cinematic chronicle of the Whites who were beaten and killed in White slavery. Four-fifths of the White slaves sent to Britain’s sugar colonies in the West Indies did not survive their first year.
Soldiers in the American Revolution and sailors impressed into the American navy received upwards of two hundred whiplashes for minor infractions. But no TV show lifts the shirt of these White yeoman to reveal the scars on their backs.
The Establishment would rather weep over the poor persecuted Negroes, but leave the White working class “rednecks” and “crackers” (both of these terms of derision were first applied to White slaves), to live next door to the Blacks.
Little has changed since the early 1800s when the men of property and station of the English Parliament outlawed Black slavery throughout the Empire. While this Parliament was in session to enact this law, ragged five year old White orphan boys, beaten, starved and whipped, were being forced up the chimneys of the English parliament, to clean them. Sometimes the chimney masonry collapsed on these boys. Other times they suffocated to death inside their narrow smoke channels.
Long after Blacks were free throughout the British Empire, the British House of Lords refused to abolish chimney-sweeping by White children under the age of ten. The Lords contended that to do so would interfere with “property rights.” The lives of the White children were not worth a farthing and were considered no subject for humanitarian concern.
The chronicle of White slavery in America comprises the dustiest shelf in the darkest corner of suppressed American history. Should the truth about that epoch ever emerge into the public consciousness of Americans, the whole basis for the swindle of “Affirmative action,” “minority set-asides” and proposed “Reparations to African-Americans” will be swept away. The fact is, the White working people of this country owe no one. They are themselves the descendants, as Congressman Wilmot so aptly said, of “the sons of toil.”
There will only be racial peace when knowledge of radical historical truths are widespread and both sides negotiate from positions of strength and not from fantasies of White working class guilt and the uniqueness of Black suffering. Let it be said, in many cases Blacks in slavery had it better than poor Whites in the antebellum South. This is why there was such strong resistance to the Confederacy in the poverty-stricken areas of the mountain south, such as Winston County in Alabama and the Beech mountains of North Carolina. Those poor Whites could not imagine why any White laborer would want to die for the slave-owning plutocracy that more often than not, gave better care and attention to their Black servants than they did to the free white labor they scorned as “trash.” To this day, the White ruling class denigrates the White poor and patronizes Blacks.
If this seems admirable from the pathological viewpoint of Marxism or cosmopolitan liberalism, the Black and Third World “beneficiaries” of White ruling class “esteem” ought to consider what sort of “friends” they actually have.
The Bible declares that the man who does not take care of his own family is “worse than an infidel.” This also applies to one’s racial kindred. The man who neglects his own children to care for yours has true love for neither.
White, self-hating liberals and greed-head conservatives who claim to care for the “civil rights” of Black and Third World people, discard the working class of their own people on the garbage heap of history. When they are finished with their own they shall surely turn on others.
Those who care for their own kind first are not practicing “hate” but kindness, which is the very root of the word.

I feel like I’m still slaving away.
I urge the pros to find more CITATIONS to elaborate further. If these words be true, whites have justification to be angry out of being dispossessed of their suffering. But this does not mean glorying in victimization; but recognizing a common human history which means no one group is uniquely virtuous by way of historical bondage.
While researching my family history, I discovered a direct Great x 6 Grandfather was brought to Maryland in chains to serve a seven year sentence as a laborer for a petty theft conviction as a 17 year old in England.

All black slurs and prejudice towards whites are rooted in glaring white poverty that blacks held in contempt.
“Guinea” was a black slur aimed at poor Italians because they looked dark enough to come from Africa and lived in squalor. Even in the 70’s and 80’s in the Daniel LaRusso KARATE KID era blacks held Italians in contempt as poorer and darker whites (Though as Cobra Kai series demonstrates, the poor East Coast Italian is a thing of the past).
“White trash” was lobbed at Irish laborers in the South, though it refers to Appalachians and not Irish-Catholics today.
“Honky” was aimed at Hungarians in Chicago though now it refers to all whites.
Blacks have always been around poor whites and white poverty has never assuaged their tensions. It merely enables blacks to easily target white girls who’d be harder to get to in the suburbs.
To Detroit working middle class white, most of you just incredibly naive. Incredibly.
I’ve been studying this subject for years and I am indebted to Mr. Unz and Mr. Hoffman for publishing this article. From what I’ve studied this is all true and needs to be told far and wide. We need more books both non-fiction and novels covering this suppressed history. We need to make films, documentaries, anything that can get the knowledge to the people. Lastly, I say to everybody on this site, look into your own family’s genealogy, it is quite likely that your distant ancestors are among these white slaves, especially if you have colonial ancestry.
Indeed, GB society in the 19th century was horrible.
The first book is a novel, but describes quite well how GB treated the poor.
But is was nothing new in GB, kidnapping crew for British warships when war was coming was legal.
If they survived, they were liberated three or more years later, ‘press gangs’.

We’re not members of some Borg Collective in the first place. Before I am white, male, let-handed, or anything else, I am me, and what is of critical importance is what has happened to ME, not to a ‘fellow’ left-hander on the other side of the world three centuries ago.
So if we’re to have a victimhood competition, tell me about what has happened to YOU, PERSONALLY, and then we’ll compare it to what has happened to ME, PERSONALLY. What happened to a co-religionist of yours two hundred years ago versus what happened to a co-ethnic of mine last century takes a very, very distant second to that.
You could be, say, of Irish extraction. Tomorrow, I might run into a car. Which is more important: whether it’s a fellow Irishman’s car, or your car?
All this nonsense about collective responsibility or collective guilt is just that, nonsense. It’s all about individuals. If we were going to settle up, Obama — with his rather privileged, painless life — owes me — with my fairly checquered past — a fat check.
I don’t want it — but please; no nonsense about how I somehow owe you something because of something a left-handed fellow of mine did to a right-handed fellow of yours. That’s the most atrocious bilge imaginable.
It’s bloody ridiculous. A white girl who has been raped in the park would be due a fat check from a black girl who hasn’t. The collective history of whatever larger groups they belong to are completely secondary to their personal experience as individuals. Surely that’s obvious.

Few people in the Northern United States are descended from white slaves except in cities on the “Hillbilly Highway” like Chicago or erstwhile Detroit (I knew many Southerners when I was young).
Generally, people in most of the Northern United States are the grandchildren or great-grandchildren of immigrants. Donald Trump, for example, is the son of a man CONCEIVED (Though not born) in Germany. His mother of course, was born in Great Britain.
Old Colonial heritage is also not entirely white. I’d say a full 100% of white Southerners have Native American blood. The English sailors etc. all had their way with Cherokee squaws, while the post-1880 mass immigration to the Northern industrial base often attracted more women than men.
A great grandfather of me around 1880 in the Netherlands, illiterate peat worker, was not much more than a slave.
He was illiterate because he had become an orphan at young age.
The farm where he grew up, still exists, at the time there were no regulations, one must assume, that took care of orphans getting education.
But he co organised strikes, and learned to read an write in jail, for poaching.
In 1913 he had a farm built, in 1897 he became a member of the council of his municipality.
Other Dutch at the time did not have much better lives, someone in a discussion about this wrote that his ancestors around 1870 were volders, do not know the english translation, what they had to do was trampling all day on linen in tubs, cold water, as far as I know.
Then in the good old days there were those who gilded with gold dissolved in mercury, by heating making the mercury evaporate.
As a specialist declared, at the end of their twenties they died.

Workers knew quite well that work in a dusty environment was paid better because of health risks.

I would contend that white slavery still exists. In the US, where actual unemployment still hovers around 21.5%, you can go to any warehouse in the northeast (invariably owned by one of those “Fortune 500 Best Companies In America To Work For”) at three o’clock in the morning and find nothing but white college educated professionals unloading 20-ton tractor trailers for an after-tax take home pay of $6 an hour. You won’t see one of those mythical Mexicans “doing the jobs Americans don’t want to do”, but you will find lots of certified teachers, a professional scientist or two, an architect, an historian, etc.
At the local Amazon sweatshop you will find 80-year-old whites walking ten miles a day on cement floors in sweltering heat or freezing winters, with half of their $6 take home being subsidized by the other tax payers as a bonus to Amazon for hiring the elderly.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Reminds me of a story about some Aussies going to England a few years ago, wanting to find out about their great, great, great, great grandfather, and why he’d been sent to the penal colony of Australia.
Well aware that many people got done for minor crimes like stealing a loaf of bread, they assumed their ancestor to be in that category. So, filled with righteous zeal, they made their way to the records office in the UK to find out what non-crime he had committed.
The record matter of factly stated: “this man is to be transported to the penal colony of Australia for engaging in an unnatural act with a farm animal.”
So as much as I endorse what you’re suggesting, some people might find out a few things they’d rather not have known. Ha ha.
The english translation is Walker or Fuller. That is where those surnames come from.

I’m from the Northeast, and my maternal grandmother was of American colonial stock. Her earliest patrilineal ancestor to arrive in America (Dorchester, Mass. in 1635) was an indentured servant, and another of her ancestors was a Scottish prisoner-of-war exported to New England as slave labor in the 1650’s – and that’s only the ones I know about. I am certain there were many, many others. As for my paternal grandparents, they were from Donegal, Ireland. My paternal grandfather’s people were tenant farmers until well into the 19th century, and I have collateral ancestors with my surname who died – as children – during the Famine of 1847. My maternal grandfather’s family were English working class from the East End of London. Their ancestors were framework knitters from Leicestershire who labored in urban poverty for generations during the Industrial Revolution, the exact kind of people who became Luddites 200 years ago to protest unfair competition from machine looms. When my great-grandfather was driven out of business by American competition in the 1890’s, he emigrated with his whole family to Lynn, Massachusetts, where every man, woman and child in the household labored in shoe factories from six in the morning to six at night. When the Social Justice Warriors and the Ivy League Jews prattle about how easy the WASPs have it, their words are as turds dropping from their flabby asses.

Slav comes from slovo, meaning word, as to denote people who have languages close to your own. How could anybody but the most pathetic bugman reasonably expect free people to call themselves slaves?

That erasure of brutal history is necessary for non-Elite whites not merely to see themselves as WASPs and WASP culture as a really good thing, but to see WASP culture as perhaps the one thing they might fight to protect.
Some of them know parts of the horror, but are fine with it, because they see it as happening only to Irish or Highland Catholics, who deserved it for not being English and not being Protestant.
From its inception, WASP culture – the child of the Judaizing heresy Anglo-Saxon Puritanism – has featured war of extermination against all non-WASP cultures native to the British Isles. That for more than a couple centuries featured making slaves of many of the whites who failed to toe the line quickly enough.

I had a Dutch colleague named Walker, in the USA I passed a very small village named Walker, some ten inhabitants.
A good place to start is to stop using the word ‘white’.

Being summer vacation from schools time, a good thing parents could do is to encourage their White Kids, ages 12 to 25+ to cheaply print a huge stack of flyers that show Mr. Hoffman’s Book with enough detail to read it as in the photo within article. Then get some sunshine and exercise by going to Mall’s and various strip mall parking lot’s, and also every Telephone/electric Pole they pass by, and quickly attach a flyer to it. And also place a flyer under windshield wiper blades on vehicles in store lot’s.
Just like many folks do to advertise their garage sale’s.
This will accomplish two good things. #1. Bring fast awareness about the main issue of whitey slavery, and #2 Potentially cause many book sales which is good for Mr. Hoffman. I’d think that regardless how swell guys like him write, and no matter how low cost their books can be priced. I remember reading something about the history of coastal North Carolina, where it was claimed that in the early colonial days, there was a surprisingly high number of marriages between indentured whites and black slaves in the southern colonies. And more often than not, it was black males paired with white females. As white indentured servitude was phased out and black slavery took its place, these kinds of pairings had all but vanished by the time of the revolution (and had in fact probably been outlawed in many places). But this definitely seems to contradict the narrative that all white ancestry present among blacks today comes from white slavemasters doing a lot of raping.
I am intrigued by the author’s discussion of early lifetime and hereditary white slavery in America. But he has for some reason not included any links to, you know, evidence that his claims are accurate.

I’ve never heard of that, but I would guess that White women who were slaves, indentures, or tenants were at the greatest risk of being victims of rape, sexual assault and coercion. Nobody seems to have looked into that, but it seems that they would be the favored targets of sexual predators preying on the vulnerable, especially if you look at current rape stats. Prior to the steam engine very few single women immigrated to the United States; no British woman said “Dad, I’ll be sailing to North Carolina to be raped by Negros now”. The English planters and Scots who moved to West Virginia came mostly as young couples.
Old Colonial US stock as a result tends to have a considerable amount of Cherokee female. Many Englishman married Cherokees women-the tribe was more amenable than Apache.
English planters who owned the plantations did not order white women dragged into slave quarters and raped. There were not white women to spare in Colonial days, most were sent to the colonies for arranged marriages.
Settling new countries is a male endeavor and puts female sex partners at a premium. There are none to spare for Negro gang rapes.
The huge female migration to the United States really occurred in the 1880’s when Irish and Italian women-many of them career prostitutes-saw an opportunity to make money in the Industrial North. This is the reason that most whites in NYC won’t have Cherokee blood in them and most white Southerners have Cherokee blood in their maternal DNA here and there.
Where to start?
1. West Virginia was founded during the Civil War. The early settlers to western Virginia weren’t planters for the most part.
2. The colonies were full of women from Europe. In the very early days, there were few women, but there were few blacks then, also. My point was that with many white women in a state of servitude or serfdom, they, if anyone, were the likely the main targets of rape or sexual abuse from powerful men, not black women. It makes sense that white rapists of the time would target white women as they do now, but that’s just speculation on my part, since there is no research in the topic that I know of.
3. Early colonists didn’t just sail to the colonies. Many were cleared from their land in Britain or elsewhere (Germany included) and forced to leave, women, children, and whole families, in many cases. Others were “convicts” who were charged with petty crimes and poaching, or, in the case of women, prostitution. Debtors could also be sent to the colonies. Many others were simply abducted. Unless what I have read is wrong, serious criminals like murderers and rapists were shown the gallows, or more gruesome means of execution, rather than exported–it was cheaper that way, and a form of entertainment.
Not true. Cherokee lands weren’t encountered by the first settlers, and the amount of Indian blood in Old Stock Americans is small, family legends aside. Even early on, mixing between whites and natives wasn’t that common, and it never has been. There was never a choice between Apache and Cherokee women for Colonial Englishmen. The Apaches were in uncharted land claimed by Spain. My guess is that English colonists were more likely to encounter Powhatans and Iriquois than Cherokees. But none had heard of Apaches.
I don’t think anyone ever makes formal orders for rape. The obvious point is that many white women were at the low end of society, and were the likely victims of sexual abuse, if any women were. That’s the logical counter to the typical claim that black women were raped day and night by white men. There were lots of white women in the colonies–my own family tree is full of white women who lived in the British colonies, and they migrated south and west with the men. How do you think the land was settled and held? People tended to move in extended family groups which included women.

Most of the white Westerners have no idea what they are talking about. Their opinion of China is only from watching films like “Blue Kite” and Jackie Chan Kung Fu flicks.
So you are right and good for you to remind them.
How would I know how each black person wound up with white DNA? In early colonial times, there were no anti-miscegenation laws, so some whites and blacks were married and had children. Some blacks and whites had secret relationships when miscegenation was outlawed. Prostitution could also count for some of the 20%. Some of the 20% probably comes from rape. Who claimed otherwise? Most human beings likely have a rape or two in their family trees, since every group has been on the losing side of conflict a time or two throughout history. Judging by recent generations, I’d guess that much of the reported 20% white DNA in blacks is of recent/very recent origin.
As far as I know, no analysis of the white DNA of American blacks states when the white DNA entered the gene pool. And 20% leaves lots of room for blacks who are completely or overwhelmingly of African background, as well as blacks who are half or 3/4 white. You don’t have to be an expert statistician to know that. I’d also bet that many of the blacks with higher percentages of white DNA don’t live in the South.
I’ve known Nigerians and other Africans who aren’t pitch black. I’ve been around blacks every single day of my life, and they tend to look very African, because most are. If you know of some secret way of distinguishing Nigerians from other Africans, you might be able to tell American blacks from Nigerians, since the ancestors of most American blacks weren’t taken from Nigeria. Otherwise, you’d be relying on cultural signals to see the differences between very many American blacks and their African counterparts.
I wonder if anyone has done DNA analysis of Liberian blacks to determine the percentage of white DNA in the ancestors of former American slaves? That might shed some light on mixing in colonial or antebellum times. At least in pictures and on television, Liberians tend to look very African.
I grew up in Detroit, (Chene Street) and personally witnessed the destruction of a once-great city. There are a number of reasons for Detroit’s decline that have never been explored or discussed.
1. “Blockbusting” by greedy real estate agents. Real estate agents would send out postcards with the following: “A new family is moving into your neighborhood. If you want to sell your house, please call me at xxx-xxxx”. A “new family” was a euphemism for black families, and was used to “encourage” whites to sell their homes.
2. HUD (Housing and Urban Development) speculators and real estate hustlers conspired to “buy up” and raze the best houses on every block, in certain sections of the city. Quite often, “shacks” were left standing while decent housing was purchased by HUD and razed. This was done purposely to depress property values, to make it easier for speculators to purchase properties at “bargain basement” prices.
I realize that items 1 and 2 counteract each other and are at cross purposes, but they were a reality in 1960s Detroit.
3. The 1967 riots did much to push whites out of Detroit. A little-known aspect of the Detroit riots was the application of spray-painted words on the exteriors of black-owned businesses. The words “soul brother” was spray-painted on businesses owned by blacks so that the “angels of death” (actually rioters) would spare them from destruction. Whole business districts around the city were destroyed, never to regain their former selves.
4. The election of Coleman Alexander Young, Detroit’s first black mayor, who was overtly racist to Detroit’s white citizens while “getting along just fine” with the “movers and shakers” (big business people) of the day (as long as the campaign donations kept coming in)….
5. The abolition of the STRESS (Stop The Robberies, Enjoy Safe Streets) program. This anti-criminal program was put in by mayor Young’s predecessor and was quite successful in “cleaning up the streets” of criminals. In this program, police officers would disguise themselves as vulnerable old people and walk through neighborhoods as “decoys”. Predatory criminals would attempt to rob these elderly citizens and quite often, were dispatched to “the great hereafter”. One of Young’s campaign promises was the abolition of the STRESS program as too many of “his people” were being eliminated. Upon the election of Young, the program was disbanded.
These are 5 reasons for this once-great city’s demise.
Slavery existed under a legal system that enforced property rights but not human rights. Poor people had no rights but they could become property themselves. This was recognized as an evil by many religious leaders in early America because it couldn’t be reconciled with their monotheistic Christian belief that all men are created equal. It took the Civil War to definitively put an end to the practice and its justification under American law. Once people could not cross the line from being a legal entity with enforceable rights to being the property of someone else, the law had to evolve to balance the interests of the rich and the poor. The US would not be a modern society if this had not happened.

A) It is ludicrous to suggest that people who have been in America for 400 years like blacks can be expelled anywhere. This is the mortal ( while in the flesh ) and earthly escape , out of The Great Temptation and Tribulation ( trial & test ) , that is coming as GOD’S anger and judgement , upon the whole world . Let the loud – clear – pure ringing , of The True And Real Christian Liberty Bell , peal throughout all THE LORD’S SANCTUARIES . It is the beginning of GOD’S PARADISIACAL KINGDOM COME TO EARTH ; in His multifold and distinct , provided and guarded , companies and camps – trekking and transiting , to His refuges and retreats . Who will survive and who will demise ? Choose the only genuine and best hope , or decide for the hard way , of soul danger and torment . Watch and Pray . There appears to be little or no essential dichotomy between capitalism and totalitarian communism in practice.
If that were true, you would have provided evidence of 90 million Americans murdered in the 20th century by American capitalists.
But you can’t, so you are wrong.
Look at what was in bed with the most virulent forms of socialism. (Certain international bankers and corporatists funded both the commies under Lenin and Stalin, as well as the Nazis, believe it or not.)
This is why you are blinded. Capitalists taking the money they make under capitalism and supporting communism is only possible, not mandatory or inevitable.
