A saint I ain’t. But I have competed for a saint. At one of my childhood schools, the pupils were divided into groups, or houses, named after the saints who wrote the Gospels. There was Mattheus House, Marcus House, Lucas House and Johannes House. All of them had a Head of House appointed from pupils in their final year before university. I was in Marcus House and one year our Head of House was a tall, charismatic and athletic youth whom I’ll call Will. With a typically alpha mixture of charm, authority and good example, Will persuaded the usually underperforming members of Marcus to train hard for the annual Sports Day. Thanks to him, we won the Sports Day easily over Johannes, who were traditionally much stronger at sport.
Toxic Trump and Malevolent MAGA
We won so easily, in fact, the following year I confidently expected us to win the Sports Day again. Yes, Will had gone off to university and his replacement as Head of House wasn’t a charismatic alpha, but surely the momentum of the previous year would carry us to victory again. It didn’t. Marcus lost to Johannes. And badly. It was one of my first lessons in the importance of leadership and individual will. And I’ve been thinking of those two Sports Days ever since the defeat of beautiful brown Kamala Harris in the US presidential election. Why have leftists not been throwing big tantrums over the re-election of Despicable Donald? They’ve witnessed a Triumph of the Villains — Toxic Trump and his malevolent MAGA movement — and yet they’ve not been raging and rioting as they did during his first term.
Why not? Is it simply that they’re demoralized and “exhausted,” too traumatized by Trump’s triumph to fight the foulness of fascism on behalf of the helpless undocumented migrants and transwomen whom MAGA are already torturing? I don’t think so. Instead, it feels to me as though some powerful guiding mind has deserted the left, has declined to organize and animate the masked legions of Antifa, to pour willpower and funding into riots and days of rage. That’s why I’ve been thinking of those two starkly contrasting Sports Days at my old school, one with Will and one without, one easily won and the other badly lost. But I’ve not just been thinking of sports: I’ve been thinking of Sauron. He’s the titular villain of Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, a hideously powerful necromancer with a will of adamant and overwhelming military might. Yet he’s defeated in the end not by a fellow wizard or a mighty warrior, but by two Hobbits, Frodo and Sam, simple members of a despised and dwarvish race from a far-away land with no army and no tradition of magic. That’s one of Tolkien’s central themes: how the mighty can be brought low by the minute. And this is how Tolkien describes what happens when Sauron’s will of adamant deserts his undefeatable armies:
But the Nazgûl turned and fled, and vanished into Mordor’s shadows, hearing a sudden terrible call out of the Dark Tower; and even at that moment all the hosts of Mordor trembled, doubt clutched their hearts, their laughter failed, their hands shook and their limbs were loosed. The Power that drove them on and filled them with hate and fury was wavering, its will was removed from them; and now looking in the eyes of their enemies they saw a deadly light and were afraid. …
“The realm of Sauron is ended!” said Gandalf. “The Ring-bearer has fulfilled his Quest.” And as the Captains gazed south to the Land of Mordor, it seemed to them that, black against the pall of cloud, there rose a huge shape of shadow, impenetrable, lightning-crowned, filling all the sky. Enormous it reared above the world, and stretched out towards them a vast threatening hand, terrible but impotent: for even as it leaned over them, a great wind took it, and it was all blown away, and passed; and then a hush fell.
The Captains bowed their heads; and when they looked up again, behold! their enemies were flying and the power of Mordor was scattering like dust in the wind. As when death smites the swollen brooding thing that inhabits their crawling hill and holds them all in sway, ants will wander witless and purposeless and then feebly die, so the creatures of Sauron, orc or troll or beast spell-enslaved, ran hither and thither mindless; and some slew themselves, or cast themselves in pits, or fled wailing back to hide in holes and dark lightless places far from hope. (The Return of the King [1955], chapter 4)
That ant-hill simile is an echo of ancient Homer in Tolkien’s twentieth-century epic. And Tolkien’s simile reminds me of leftists since Trump’s election. They too are “witless and purposeless,” with doubt clutching their hearts and their laughter failing. They’re not raging and rioting, but retiring from combat. And I think it’s because, like the armies of Sauron, they’re minions, not masters. It wasn’t their own will that directed them in their war on the West, but the will of others. I suggested in my article “Piranha Patel” that the willful others are Jews. Since the attack on Israel by Hamas in October 2023 and noisy pro-Palestinian marches in cities like New York, London and Paris, some important Jews have decided that Jews need to end their traditional support for non-White immigration and for anti-White ideologies like Critical Race Theory (CRT) and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI).
The left is bereft
Deprived of Jewish willpower, brains, and funding, the left is bereft. Leftists are NPCs (Non-Player Characters) who can’t act and organize on their own. Jews played the role of Sauron for the leftist armies waging war on Truth, Beauty and Goodness. And now Sauron has gone: Jews have decided that rioting and raging against Trump wouldn’t be good for Jews. That’s what it feels like to me. And that’s why I’ve been thinking of Sports Days and that Sauronic simile in Lord of the Rings. I might be wrong about the main cause of the left’s passivity, but I’m not wrong to think about Lord of the Rings. It’s always a good time to be inspired by Tolkien and his stirring stories of Truth, Beauty and Goodness at war with Lies, Ugliness and Evil. And that brings me to one of the best accounts I’ve ever come across on Twitter: The Daily Gondor. If you’re not familiar with Tolkien and Lord of the Rings, you’ll be baffled by it. However, if you are familiar, it will be one of the funniest and cleverest things you’ll ever read.
The Daily Gondor purports to be a truth-telling, toxicity-battling media-feed for the inhabitants of Tolkien’s Middle-earth. It’s overseen by Gríma Wormtongue, the wise and faithful advisor to King Théoden of Rohan. That’s how Wormtongue wants to be seen, anyway. In reality, he’s a liar and a traitor, a sly spinner of word-webs who paralyzes Théoden’s will, rendering him helpless to govern and defend his own kingdom. Wormtongue turns black into white, pretends that good is evil and evil good. And now he’s editing the Daily Gondor. In other words, the Daily Gondor (DG) is a parody of the Guardian, New York Times and other leftist media, who all spin word-webs in the service of lies, ugliness and evil. For example, those real newspapers all use a sacralizing capital letter for “Black” just as the DG and sister-outlets like Barad-dûrFeed (sic) use a sacralizing capital letter for “Orc” (orcs are the ugly and evil warriors of Sauron and Barad-dûr is the name of Sauron’s fortress in the grim realm of Mordor). The real leftist media minimize the murder, rape and theft committed by Blacks and other non-Whites just as the DG minimizes the decapitation, cannibalism and looting of Orcs. And where the real leftist media incessantly condemn racism and transphobia, the DG incessantly condemns “orcophobia,” the irrational fear of Orcs and their vibrant culinary and cultural habits. Here are some typical headlines from the Daily Gondor and Barad-dûrFeed:

- It’s impossible to have a modern, civilized society without Orcs and cannibalism is a small price to pay.

That last headline is a parody of the Guardian’s now infamous article: “We keep hearing about ‘legitimate concerns’ over immigration. The truth is, there are none.” But the DG does more than just parody the Guardian and other leftist media: it also points at the disproportionate and controlling role of Jews in leftism and the war on Truth, Beauty and Goodness. Jews have names like Goldsmith, Goldberg and Rubinstein (the latter two names mean “Gold-mountain” and “Ruby-stone” in German). Journalists for the DG and BDF have names like Gobli Mithrilsmith, Thogrun Mithrilgroper, Rothli Jewelrubber and Gambi Jewelsqueezer (mithril is Middle-earth’s most precious metal). And look at this headline: “Rivendell politician SACKED after suggesting 8 out of 9 major Palintírí outlets are controlled by just 3 dwarven clans.” The journalist for that article is one Shuldur Goldstonemountain, who writes of how “in a reckless display of dangerous noticing the official, whose name will soon be erased and forgotten, hurt Rivendell’s reputation and standing.”
That’s a clever joke about Jewish dominance in the media and the way Jews condemn and cancel those who discuss that dominance. The Daily Gondor is wise, witty and White-friendly. It’s written by a true Tolkien fan and I can heartily recommend it to all other true Tolkien fans.

This explanation comes just in time for me, because I was beginning to lose my faith in the omnipotent power of the Jews and their sinister ability to make white people do whatever (((they))) want! I have neither, and this article has made me a little less admiring of Mr. Langdon.
Why? Let me be brutal. Because I think this absorption in The Lord of the Rings (along with other similiar absorptions) is a waste of time and a distraction from reality.
There was nothing like this in the small town I grew up in in the 40s and 50s. By their fifteenth birthday a quarter of the boys were full adults, and another half was right behind. I was behind them.
As a child I was probably the chief patron of the town library, a giant mausoleum of a building clothed in white marble.
My first reading enthusiasm was a series of little books about ‘woodland creatures.’ From them I graduated to The Hardy Boys, and from The Hardy Boys I plunged straight into adult bookdom.
Fantasy? Never. Not then. Not now.
Today fantasy fiction is a top seller. The twenty something bank teller I usually interact with is in the middle of an 800 page fantasy novel, in small print!
Was it yesterday that I wrote that we call our world Klownworld because of its failure to recognize reality? Is the fantasy fiction mania a sympton of that failure? Or is it rather an enrichment of our understanding? I just can’t see it.
I’ve also written that what I miss in TUR articles and elsewhere is a ‘moral dimension,’ a consideration of questions of ‘good’ and ‘evil.’

The wind changing to favor Trump after Oct.7 was so sudden and complete it had to be centrally directed. I read somewhere that it was worked out as concordat between the “neo-Chabad” and the Rothchildes. (bosses of the Republicans and Democrats, respectively.)
What is expected of Trump remains to be seen, unless what we’ve seen is what we get, and the hidden power was really on “our” side, after all. I don’t buy that Trump is a zionist stooge, though; most of what he has done for Israel is largely symbolic (moving the Embassy, giving them the Golan, which they already had, being their best friend, etc). I hope he’s already wedgedied Bibi in private like he did to the little orc in public.

If the Left is seemingly demoralized if they are devoid of the Jewish money, guidance and leadership is because with nearly 30 to 40 million illegal aliens (some estimates it to total 50 million) they know they’ll have the winning hand in the end since it’ll be impossible for Trump to deport them back to their countries in the next four years, unless they win the midterm elections and thereafter, two more terms. And if Democrats come back in 2028 with presidenxy and both the houses of congress then all those illegals will be normalized by the grant of amnesty. The next decade is crucial to the White Christian majority and the American culture.
That doesn’t add up. One is tempted to seek parallels to our time in Tolkien’s epic, whereby it is irrelevant who are defined as hobbits, dwarves, humans, elves or orcs. For me, the latter are organisations like Antifa and BLM activists. Tolkien describes very well how the all-destroying evil creeps in and inescapably seeks to wipe out everything. The individual populations are powerless, no matter how fierce their resistance. I don’t think artists can foresee the future or are particularly wise. But I suspect that they have an antenna for trends and intuitively sense what development lies ahead. In this respect, they are like scientists who also observe closely and document their findings before publishing them as a thesis. Tolkien couldn’t foresee any of today’s madness, though.
Sauron/ Morgoth/Tulsa Doom in our time lets Islam and the Western world fight each other in ever different theatres and when both sides are exhausted and worn down, he finishes both off with little effort.
A funny point, Tolkien doesn’t include much direct conversational speech among trolls or orcs, but on the two points where he did write it (trolls under the bridge in The Hobbit, Mordor orcs in LoTR), he makes them into black humour. Both scenes in the books are quite funny.

By a curious co-incidence, I woke up this morning to a dream which dovetails quite well with the theme of this article by Tobias Langdon.
There was the road to town, leading upwards from left to right. If I took this slightly off-the-beaten path then I would intersect it. It is steep, but promises new territory to explore. I came to the road, turned right and began the accent, which was steeper than I had anticipated. It was also whiter than I had expected, as though paved with beach sand. I reached the top and there was a pleasant open grove of low-growing trees. I walked through them and on to the other side. Below me lay the city. I began my descent. There was no road or path.
I came to the city wall and climbed the rubble to the top of the heap. There below me lay the city. I began my descent into the city proper. I went through a doorway which led to a bewildering series of claustrophobic inducing hallways, steep stairways and spiral passages. Always descending.
Finally I emerged into the courtyard. What greeted me was not what I expected. There was no golden city, there was only ruin. All was disorganized rubble. It appeared as though everything had been burnt as though a cataclysm had swept through the city, consuming all. Beings milled about, engaged in their private enterprises. They seemed to be looting and took no interest in me. Over there, something caught my attention. A group of men, dressed in gray, rough clothes were trying to get through a doorway. They were prevented from doing so by a stack of bodies, dead, decomposed humans. I wondered to myself how the bodies had come to occupy the positions they were in.
They were stacked there, as though either they had crammed themselves into a passageway in trying desperately to escape or they had died and been stacked there by someone or as driftwood accumulates along the line of wrack on a beach, as though they had been tossed there by a rising tide. So, either they had put themselves there, were placed there by someone else or were cast there by an overriding Force. These are our three choices in life. This is how stuff happens.
I could not decide which had put them there. The men were engaged in the grisly process of unpiling the bodies. I looked away and thought to myself, “What have I let myself in for in coming here, within the city. I have to get away from here.”
Immediately I reflected, “The problem is, I’m not sure if I can retrace my steps. The passageways through the hulk of the outer walls was so convoluted that I don’t believe that I can find my way back out.” With that, I woke up.
What strikes me now, and the reason I’m writing this is how similar the images of the molten cityscape presented in the article are to what I saw in my dream. Ruin and the red glow, the charred remains of blackened timbers, smoke-blackened masonry and decomposing bodies all around me. The proverbial charnel house.
Now, Freud told us that everything we encounter in our dreams is us. It is the landscape of our interior mind’s reality. It is not out there, it is in here.
The Egyptians and Greeks, on the other hand, believed that dreams were delivered to us by Hermes, the messenger God and could be understood as being warnings or encouragement from the Gods themselves. Jung thought that dreams came from the higher, unified Self, speaking through the medium of images and symbols.
Most modern, educated persons have absorbed and adopted the Freudian interpretation, whether consciously or not. It is the language of psychoanalysis, which is the default setting of the modern mind.
What Tobias Langdon is saying through the medium of the Tolken metaphor is that if you accept this, Freud’s view, then you are screwed.
If you, if I, were to accept the view that your and my dreams are not missives which contain information of the world out there, but only of the interior landscapes of our minds and psyches, then we are paralyzed. If the blasted city is a metaphor for my interior landscape, then the only thing for me to do is to look inwardly at myself and get to work overhauling who I am. If it is a metaphor of what is happening around me then the emphasis falls in quite a different place. It is not I who must change, it is I who must either change what it is around me or adapt to it or get the Hell away from it.
So, Freudian psychoanalysis has paralyzed us. It was meant to. Just as the text accompanying all the parody in the Tolken newspaper articles blames us, internally, for what is wrong with the world.
I know this has been long-winded, but I’m telling you, Friends, that this is the crux of the issue. It is the crossroads, the time of decision.
If we accept Freud’s view that our dreams are not capable of providing us with Truth about the world out there but only of our interior mental landscape, then we are doomed to self blame. This is at the very center of what The Daily Gondor is all about, as it correctly points out that in every case, it is we who are being blamed—our inner faults—for stuff happening out there.
When we accept Freud, it is not out there which needs to be opposed, but in here. Give up all hope of resisting that which threatens or oppresses you, for it is you who oppresses and threatens yourself. So, put down your arms. Don’t arm yourself. You are not to consider yourself as a Warrior. You are to meekly acknowledge that your problems stem not from what others may be doing unto you, but solely from the creations of your own mind. You are the cause of whatever is ailing you, never the Other. The notion that a dream may impart some useful or meaningful information about the World outside of your own brain is absurd. How can the imaginings of the inner Mind convey information about the Outer World?

Tolkien’s work was grounded in his WW I experience. While published in the early 50’s it was largely written before WW II. It is a European mythology. Tolkien disliked allegory generally. He did concede that Hobbits are fundamentally British, and in some way how he saw himself.
One of the reasons Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings movie adaptation works well is it respects the author’s intent. Amazon’s Rings of Power fails for many reasons. Deviation from Tolkien’s canon underpins almost all of those mistakes.
