I think that The Wire was an excellent show in spite of the intentions of its creators. David Simon has this habit of violently erupting at any viewer who dares to draw the wrong conclusions from his magnum opus. It would appear that Mr. Simon set out to make a nice piece of didactic racial agitprop, but instead made a work of art that is, gasp, open to interpretation and spurs on debate and conversation. You know, like bona fide art.

The so-called civil-rights laws and their enforcement should have been limited to blacks dealing with government–not the destruction of “freedom of association” (but only for whites) that the “civil-rights” laws have destroyed.

When a Christian baker can be forced to bake a cake for homosexuals, but moslem bakery owners are not, THAT is a problem. THAT is but proof that the “equal accommodations” laws are used against whites and conservatives which much greater frequency than that of certain minorities.

It is true that blacks were denied hotel accommodations in the past, but so what? In the day, whites were also denied hotel accommodations in black-run establishments, as well.

If I am told that I am not welcome in a private establishment, I will simply go and take my business elsewhere. It is their loss.

Using military troops to enforce “civil-rights” statutes against whites was in itself not only unconstitutional, but did much to set back the cause of TRUE civil-rights.

Blacks were coming into their own, many of them adopting white culture and behavior. Those that conform to white societal norms were and are more than welcome. Sadly, there is a black “underclass” that insists on following its own path of criminality and dysfunctional behavior.

All one has to do is look at the urban public schools, which spend twice as much as suburban and rural school systems while delivering dismal results. You see, excelling at education is considered “acting white”; those blacks who attempt to excel are not looked upon highly by most of their black peers.

We have come full-circle, with blacks demanding blacks-only segregated facilities, black teachers and professors, and other blacks-only preferences, but only by their own kind.

Self-imposed segregation is a good thing for both blacks and whites. As long as voluntary segregation is not enforced by any governmental body, there is nothing wrong with it. We would be better off…

On 3 separate occasions in unrelated classes, I had Black classmates with MANNERS AND BRAINS. And they were JUST the same as the White kids. Never no problems.

But the AVERAGE IQ for Africans is 85 and the Standard Deviation is 10%. So more than 70% of Negroes have IQs below 105. And so NONE of those 70% were in my advanced Science classes.

Let’s look at the differences between blacks and every other race…

Europeans and Asians lived in harsh climates where life was (and still is) a struggle. In order to feed one’s self and family, it was necessary to domesticate both plants and animals. Ways were found that stressed preparing for the future, as there would be “lean” as well as “good” years when it came to animal and plant production.

Both Europeans and Asians found ways to use plants and animals to insure their survival. Planning for the future was always a part of the European and Asian psyches. Social structures stressing “commonality of race and purpose” and preparing for uncertain futures was always part of the plan.

Contrast that with blacks on the African continent, where both wildlife and animals were abundant. It was not necessary for Africans to establish agriculture or animal husbandry, as both were “there for the taking”.

Africans cared little for future planning, not being able to develop any inventions, such as the wheel or boat. Among black Africans, there is no quest for exploration beyond searching for food—the next meal. Despite being situated on a great ocean, black Africans never pondered what lied beyond…

African blacks have no concept of proportion. Although blacks are aware of direction, such as “up”, “down”, “left” and “right” asking them to determine “how high” or “how much” results in a quizzical, confused look on their faces as they cannot comprehend proportion. This is why almost all blacks fail at mathematics.

Black DNA does not possess the capacity for exploration, future planning, or invention.

The “grand experiment” of “civil-rights”, “(forced) integration”, and (misperceived) “equality” (that is still being pushed by globalists and others) is destined to fail.

Thomas Jefferson realized over two-hundred years ago that blacks would not be able to co-exist without being treated as the different species that they are. The attempts to equalize and normalize this species was doomed from the start.

First, standard deviation is not expressed in percentage but in the same units that were measured.
So you are stating that standard deviation is 10? That calculates to 98% of Africans have an IQ less than 105.
The commonly used figure of standard deviation for human intelligence is more like 15 rather than 10. That would mean 91% of Africans have an IQ less than 105.
In any event I could get even more pedantic because the Bell Curve distribution is a mathematical artifact of purely random distributions. Genetics is not purely random so the distribution of characteristics is not a pure Bell Curve. Calculating mean, median and standard deviation from measurements of every sample of a human population will usually yield somewhat different values from the abstract Bell Curve. The values commonly used are “close enough” and make it easier to use the data.
And the genetic, historical and cultural bases for differences in predilection to violence is a whole other kettle of fish.

Have you heard about the sophisticated sub-Saharan African civilizations of Banyoro, Nok, and Nubia, to name just a few? True, they were not as advanced as the leading European, Middle Eastern, and Asian civilizations of that time, but they did have sophisticated arts, sciences, and technologies. The Empire of Axum (also known as the Empire Of Abyssinia) at its height was a prominent naval force. They had some of the most advanced ship building technology in the world. It may come as a surprise, but the fact is that many African slaves were inoculated against smallpox BEFORE they were shipped out of Africa. They were also aware of the concept of quarantine. Should their inoculation techniques fail, they controlled the spread of epidemics such as smallpox, cholera, typhus, and influenza by isolating the infected. In extreme cases, they even burned the infected alive in their houses.

Just because blacks were aware of certain concepts does not make them equal to whites or asians.

Perhaps the same thing which happened to Middle Easterners. Middle Easterners used to be the most advanced peoples on the planet (Mesopotamia, Egypt, Persia, etc), yet their descendants have fallen to near the bottom. What happened? “Separate but equal” was abolished in 1954 but replaced in 1964 by “separate but better,” so-called affirmative action of the Great Society legislation.

Nice post, but I have a quibble. You refer to a white mainstream culture and a black underclass. It seems to me that it is less a matter of skin color than of values and behavior.

There are plenty of whites (I can point to examples in my own family) who behave just like what you call the black underclass, if by that you mean people who typically crave instant or short-term gratification rather than planning and working for the future, acting on reason rather than emotion (or at least aspiring to do so), living within their means, and so on.

Thomas Sowell’s Black Rednecks and White Liberals is a pretty good read on this for those without alcoholic rednecks in their families from whom to draw parallels with ghetto blacks.

You are correct in stating that there are whites with similar dysfunctions as blacks but not to the degree of black dysfunction.
Much behavior of these dysfunctional whites are a result of a white minority living among blacks in black-dominated urban areas. Many of these whites take on black behavioral characteristics just to stay alive. Being immersed in such a dysfunctional culture tends to “rub off” due to the lack of real alternatives.

You bring up an excellent point about today’s middle-class and upper-class whites adopting black mannerisms. Most of that is due to the “brainwashing” that the media dispenses on a daily basis, the incessant miscegenation push and the false “blacks as leaders” programming that has been taking place for quite some time.

The problem with these well-meaning whites is that they have never experienced “africanus pavement apes” in their native habitat and have no idea what experiences they would be in for.

There is a solution…

Establish a “Peace Corps” program in the inner cities and impoverished black urban areas. Naive whites can “volunteer” to help these poor “downtrodden” blacks.

I guarantee that it would just take on day for these white Peace Corps idealists (who would be involved in such a program) to see the “error of their ways” and finally see that the behavior and criminality of the black underclass is by their own choice and not influenced by outside sources.

Here is my own story–actual experience:

There was a program in Detroit called “Paint the Town”. This effort involved local businesses that would “volunteer” their employees to provide help to the elderly and those who were deemed to be “disadvantaged”.

My company “volunteered” a number of us employees to contribute to this effort. Initially, I looked forward into helping out those who were “disadvantaged”, making things easier for them in their community. The gamut of services provided varied from picking up trash and landscaping to painting houses and doing minor repairs.

My “crew” was assigned to paint a house. There was a family consisting of a man and woman (not elderly) and three (grown) men (children), approximately 14 to 18 years of age.

These “teens” watched us work, painting the house while smoking their “blunts” (marijuana) and drinking their “fortys” (alcohol), while laughing at us white “fools”.

The “man of the house” was OK with the color while the woman of the house constantly complained about the color.

The question that I never vocalized, but was in the back of my mind was “why don’t these people clean up and paint their own house”?

I, for one would be ashamed if “outsiders” came into my neighborhood to do things that I should be doing for myself.

After my stint on “Paint the Town”, I told my employer that I would NEVER participate in such a project ever again.

To this day, there are programs, “Clean up the town” in which white suburbanites travel to Detroit in groups to clean up the neighborhoods that their residents themselves refuse to do.

In order to enhance their black “urban experience” I would drop them off at 7 Mile Road and Van Dyke Avenue at 10:00 PM…and let them find their way out.
