Anyway, the FBI homicide date for 2012 is often cited — below is a plausible sounding explanation for why the 2012 UCR report lists no homicides in Newtown (they weren’t reported in in 2013 either): the CT state police immediately assumed control of the case, meaning Newtown PD no longer had formal jurisdiction, and so did not report the deaths to the FBI via UCR — because the investigation took time, there was a delay in reporting them by the CT state police.

Fact Check: FBI Did NOT Say That There Were No Killings At Sandy Hook — Data Were Submitted To FBI Later

I just offer this explanation, I don’t necessarily endorse it — I guess one could try to verify it by combing thru CT homicide data for following time periods, as reported to the FBI.

The minor victims at SH were too young to have cell phones, or for it to be reasonable to expect them to have the wherewithal to record video even if they did — reportedly 6 adults died at the school, but I’m not aware any of them shot video either — I do not recall seeing any surveillance video from inside (or outside) the school.

Eventually all the ‘evidence’ was released as part of the final report, including what turned out to be heavily redacted PDF files of crime scene fotos — I did look thru those at the time, and there was not a single drop of blood in any of the unredacted fotos — nor any solid evidence of homicide really — even one foto allegedly showing Adam Lanza’s stocking cap on the floor looked like just a stocking cap on the floor.

Actually I’m old enough to have an understanding of what matters most — what is consequential vs what is incidental — for what I’m talking about, visit this previous comment, and take the time (approx 25m) to listen.

Gerry Spence, in his excellent book that he wrote, “With Justice for None,” explains EXACTLY how our “justice system” works here in the USA:

The “law” is WHATEVER a particular judge decides what it is, on any particular day, at any particular time. A judge has the power to overturn any conviction, to increase or decrease any jury award amount, or to do away with any award altogether.

In other words, THE JUDGE IS THE LAW.

Mr. Spence should know; he has been a criminal defense lawyer for over 45 years and has been a litigant in many successful high-profile cases.

He is one of the very few lawyers who has my utmost respect.

Defamation, slander, and libel are old concepts in Anglo-American statutory law, and, before them, common law. This isn’t some suddenly made up thing to pick on Alex Jones.

Both countries had and have robust traditions of, and protections for, freedom of speech, especially the USA.

It takes an especially egregious case in a globally unique, maximum free speech oasis like the US to be successfully sued over such matters.

As for default judgements, Jones stubbornly, persistently, over a long period of time refused to even mount a defense, refused to respond to discovery after repeated warnings etc. Any failure of due process here was 100% Jones’ fault because of Jones’ decision to refuse to avail himself of that due process. He’s no more a victim than a man raising a hammer, being warned over and over not to smash his toe, and then stubbornly insisting on bringing it down on his own toe as hard as he can.

I hope the Sandy Hook parents sue Anglin as well.

No – that is NOT plausible. The FBI has had 12 years to list the sandy hook murders for the city of Newtown. And they still say ZERO.

All kids have cell phones. Anyway – we see this at EVERY school shooting. None of the kids use their phone-cams. There are never videos of the shooting!!!

The 7A says nothing about default judgements. Jones had an absolute right to a jury trial. Judges are not allowed to say, “In my opinion, you are being uncooperative and so, i am cancelling your 7A right to a jury trial and declaring you have lost the case”

It’s not a matter of opinion. Refusal to respond is objective fact. You’re given a reasonable amount of time to respond after you’ve been served. Being served means it’s also objective fact that you’ve been given official notice that you’re being sued and given all the other relevant information. If you need additional time to respond, you can ask the court for it. In legitimate circumstances such as complex cases, complicated discovery requests, overwhelmed counsel, etc., or in other reasonable circumstances, the courts are willing to be be reasonable. Judges don’t want to set themselves up to lose on appeal.

You seem to be saying “just have the trial anyway.” But there can’t BE a trial, that is, a legal contest between two opposing parties, if one side doesn’t show up, so to speak. You might be there physically, but if you’re not making a case for yourself, or your counsel doesn’t per your instructions, again, that’s 100% on you. It’s deliberately choosing to forfeit the sports game, refusing to take the field or line up for tip off etc even if you’re physically there. You can’t fart around forever, deliberately waste everyone’s time over and over, ignoring increasingly dire warnings, and then whine that the league, or court, awarded the match to the other team.

You have to be a complete, foot-in-bucket, falling down the stairs clown, or an ultra obnoxious stubborn troll dragging out an unfunny joke way past the point it was even theoretically funny and everyone gets irritated, then infuriated, to lose this way. Maybe this was a strategy by Jones to try to be able to appeal on grounds of ineffective assistance of counsel, but even a court-appointed public defender would never, for example, let you lose by default judgement, and rather than do so would insist that you fire him or request the court release him from your case.

On top of that, Jones told a provable lie under oath, when he claimed that he had fully cooperated with court orders to supply text messages and emails for a pre trial hearing, AFTER it was objectively proven that he had hidden such messages and emails. Again, you can’t have a trial if one party refuses to participate in the trial with necessary elements such as participating in discovery. Despite claiming to be falsely accused (so you’d think he’d be EAGER to supply information to prove this), Jones hid information instead, then lied under oath about that.

He might have been trying to be such a colossal a-hole so as to goad and provoke the judge into jailing him for contempt of court so he could pose as a martyr being punished for his views. Looks like the judge didn’t take the bait

This was back in 2012, and the kids were seven and six year olds. NO, kids that little typically do NOT have cell phones, especially not back then.

Anyway, you types immediately dismiss any video as “doctored” or “crisis actors” or, now, “AI-generated”, so stop pretending than you accept reality when you’re shown video proof. No evidence ever is enough to convince conspiracy kooks to drop their madness.

FBI UCR data is reported and published annually — while it’s conceivable that a homicide occurring in some jurisdiction in mid or late December might not make it into that year’s report (for whatever reason), if it doesn’t appear in the report for that jurisdiction two years in a row (it’s also conceivable such a homicide would be reported by the jurisdiction as part of next year’s data), then it’s unlikely it ever will appear in the data for that jurisdiction, i.e. in some future year, since the reports are annual, and one purpose of the reporting is to track trends.

Crime in Connecticut — 2012

See pg 14 for homicide stats, including victim demographics — note it says there were 24 homicide victims under 18 y/o in 2012 — seems like a lot to me.

I looked at 2017 — homicide info is on pg 17 — there were 8 homicide victims under 18 y/o.

In 2018 it was again 8 — etc, you can check other years if you want.

So there were significantly more under 18 y/o homicide victims in 2012 — a reasonable question: was that due to Sandy Hook?

Again, I don’t know, I’m not endorsing anything — but when I said you could ‘try to verify it by combing thru CT homicide data’, this is more or less what I meant.

You don’t seem very bright — aggressively opinionated, but not very bright — in general that’s not a good combination.

Still the Sandy Hook lawsuits and judgments against Fetzer and Jones were an abuse of the civil courts — this abuse stems from the feminization of society, where the ‘right’ of a person not be offended or hurt by what someone else says is being institutionalized in a malign way that is not at all compatible with the spirit of free speech.

Accepting the conventional story of SH, yes it was terrible, and the emotional impact on the parents must have been enormous — but that cannot be used as an excuse to punish and stifle the opinions of others.

I’ve never followed Jones, so I don’t know what he said — but in both cases I think it’s true that the plaintiffs suffered no provable or even discernible harm, yet were awarded large sums of money in ‘damages.’

HAHAHAHA. Well of course there are sources that say kids were killed at sandy hook. Most sources say that. But the fact remains that the FBI website says no kids were killed there? You govt shills still can’t explain that.

Well it seems very suspect. Its just I’ve not made any concerted effort to look into it or think about it. Then there’s 9/11, Mandalay Bay and God knows what else. It’s all getting too much.
