After day three of complete fasting, you are finished digesting whatever food was left in your belly. At this point, you have energy, even though that is counterintuitive. This is because digestion is one of the most energy-intensive activity your body does.
Once your body is finished digesting whatever is left in your system, you get a boost of energy. It’s still not as much energy as you have when you’re eating food, however. But it’s much better than the first three days of the fast.
I’m fully convinced now that this is a magical cure for all ailments, which is why it is in the Bible and all of the other holy books, and also why it is never encouraged by modern medicine. If you read the Chinese medical papers, they are recommending it constantly, because the Chinese are not sickeningly corrupt like the Americans, where every medical study tells you to take the newest drugs from Pfizer.
The NIH is publishing these studies now, because they are peer-reviewed and they sort of have to publish them, but let’s check the names of the doctors.
(I’m aware some of those are Korean names, so please do not feel a need to tell me that. The point remains: they are outside of the Western pharma system.)
Now, let’s see what Finnell, Saul, Goldhamer, and Myers are saying.
Interesting, no?
It’s almost like Jews are really bad people who don’t care about your health. If I didn’t know they were God’s chosen ones, and therefore incapable of wrongdoing, I would really wonder about that.
Although I don’t feel as tired as I did the last couple days, I’m not sure how much I’ll be able to contribute to the site over the next few days. I might do some small things. I watched Theo Von’s interview with Candace Owens, and I’ve never been more impressed with her. Frankly, she seems to be the only right-winger in America with any integrity at all. She’s been doing interviews with Harvey Weinstein, and putting together a documentary series showing he’s not guilty of those things he was charged with, which is obviously something I said from the beginning.
All these right-wing internet people are such unbelievable scumbags. It’s unbelievable. Right-wing personalities are the taxi drivers of the internet. These people would fuck you over, throw your mother down stairs for $8. They’d drown a baby to avoid an uncomfortable conversation with an FBI agent.
I recommend fasting to everyone, particularly anyone with any kind of lingering health issues. I should also note that I have alcoholism, but when not eating, there is no feeling of a need to drink either. I think anyone with a basic willpower can stop eating if they want to. Most people have no willpower, because this society doesn’t teach it and it doesn’t reward it. But not eating is not exactly the most difficult thing I’ve ever done, or even anywhere close.
I have a prostate problem, a liver problem, and crippling depression. I’m expecting this to solve all of these problems.
My objective now is eight days, but I might push it further if I think that seems like a good idea. Ten days seems like a good round number, but then so does 14 days.
If you’re thinking about this, I would not worry about muscle mass loss. It will all come back quickly. And frankly, you probably have a lot more fat than you’re aware of, which will disappear long before muscles start to atrophy. I mean, if you’re anything like the average person in America, you could fast for months on end and never lose muscle mass. Of course, you can’t work out while you’re fasting, you can only pray and relax and apparently blog about it.
Think I’ll stick with actual magickal cures. You can call it self-hypnosis if you want but it’s really tapping into power from beyond, and never fails. Fasting is just some humiliation ritual to show the sky daddy your devotion to being his bitch, that’s why it was in the bible.
Perhaps stopping drinking or reducing it by a lot (i.e. non-Irish levels) could also help?
At least with the liver thing.
Good luck.
I’ve been periodically fasting for 30 years, with great results.
I eat anything thing I want and as much as I want and mostly avoid formal workouts for about 1 yr, during which I gain about 15 lbs and lose strength. Then I eat nothing but water for about 36 hrs, followed by 80% protein with liquids for 6 weeks accompanied with rigorous strength training (weights and Pilates).
I loose about 20 lbs of fat but gain about 5 lbs of muscle while increasing my strength by 3o% and strength endurance (reps) by 2 to 10 times). For example continuous sit-ups increase from 5 to 45.
After 2-3 days of fasting, I feel sick and week with headaches and light nausea. But everything changes on day 3-4, when I’m overcome with euphoria, energy, and less need to sleep. I also feel like my head and thinking are clearer. Others have reported similar results.
I don’t know if my “clearer thinking” is reality, or psychological, but the replacement of fat and weakness by muscle and strength is absolutely true, because I carefully measure it.
Humans surely evolved under periodic (hrs to weeks) fasting/starvation, and are adapted for it. Fasting possibly eliminates many extraneous chemicals from your body, leaving ONLY COMPOUNDS THAT YOUR BODY MAKES OR RELEASES, ITSELF.
This method probably doesn’t work for everyone, but it’s a godsend for me because for 30 adult yrs I’ve stayed, relative thin, muscular, and active/energetic, while mostly eating anything I want. I’m very busy and don’t have the time or diligence to “eat right” and exercise daily. My program of 6 week intense protein diet and exercise works for me. Mileage may vary.
I did the 3 day fast and it was really not difficult. Once you commit to that mindset you just get a hollow feeling in your stomach but don’t feel actually hungry. I still drank coffee and supplemented with salt, mostly with club soda. I normally hate club soda because of the added salt but of course craved it when fasting. The important thing is when coming off is to ease into eating. My fast broke with chicken broth and later protein powder with avocado (for fat) and a small dinner of steak. Reverse water and salt intake also. So during fasting, extra salt and lot of water and coming off you want to restrict water back and avoid salt to rebalance electrolytes. Also supplement with potassium and magnesium as well. This is really overkill for a 3-day fast but I did it this as a template for a longer fast in a few months. Longer fast you ease into eating over 2 days instead of one. Anyone wondering why do all this, it’s to avoid re-feeding syndrome which you can get from fasting/starving for a long time and then just diving into meat and potatoes. Re-feeding syndrome is serious and if Anglin supposedly really read all these studies he linked he should know to at least warn his readers about it.
I recommend fasting from technology as well. The modern world is too busy and the mind has no time to rest. In the absence of distraction, God will grant you clairvoyance: “I know that I am a visionary man; for if I had not seen the things of God in a vision I should not have known the goodness of God”.
No, the euphoric, energetic response that follows fasting (and is widely reported) is probably an evolved response to get off your lazy butt and start searching for food.
Also most plants contain toxins, as do other foods. Also, gut biota produce many toxins. Clearing your gut contents eliminates most of these toxins from your body, allowing your metabolic chemistry to reset to baseline, which, is how our metabolism (biochemical machinery) evolved to function best.
You gotta do 40 days bro. Jesus did. Then add a 7th week. Like the 7th day. Beginning and end. Liberation follows. Jewish tribulations are vanquished. Church fathers knew.
Andrew.
Not drinking is easier than you think. All it takes is will power. You can do it.
https://archive.org/details/TriumphOfTheWilltriumphDesWillen
The thing to tack on to this regimen is a few days of dry fasting.
If you don’t have backup – ie preferably a professional with experience in fasting – you might want to look for someone. The risk is that you hit a pocket in your liver that’s been sequestered by your body in attempts to maintain balance while overdrinking.
Also, come up with a plan for coming off the fast. That’s the trickiest part. It’s easy to overwhelm your system.
I’ve done 2 3 week fasts, 3 or 4 2 week fasts, probably a dozen 1 week fasts, I forget how many 3-5 day fasts. I don’t do them anymore. They’re very hard on the body, particularly if you tend towards the skinnier side of the equation.
Excellent ! Continued good luck and mental toughness with your fast

if folks were more knowlegable about trophology, the science of food combining, there’d be a lot less aches, pains and flatulence in the world.

Nobody gives a flying FUCK about your fucking fasting Anglin! How about you just STFU and keep it to yourself! Fuckin cuck
It’s funny how autophagy occurs after day three and that is when everyone reports to feeling great then.
Also, you should do some physical exercise because the body gains energy by breaking down muscle mass when it is not needed. The fat reserves are pushed back precisely because they were created as reserves. If you want to lose fat, exercise your muscles, in moderation, of course.
You should not have prostate issues at your age. I believe you are about 40. Men who are not married develop a sore prostate because it’s not being emptied of seminal fluid. I had a doctor years ago named Betsy from Texas and she told me that I needed to “exercise my prostate”. I laughed and said we are not having this discussion. A man is meant to be with his wife and regularly have intercourse until he is a very old man. It’s a real shame that you have not married at your age. It’s not to late, so please get cracking and have the life that God intended you to have. Best wishes
“Fasting” (as self-starvation is improperly called by misuse of something else’s name) is a much on the rise fad/fashion at the level of people “looking for meaning and their self” (usually some feeling of being following the best fashion of the moment, and being “empowered) on the mass social spaces of the Internet (as well as “medicine science”).
It’s anorexia, a manifestation of despisal for one’s self and one’s body, rebranded to be more fashionable and, as every good virus, better able to spread.
It taps on some mental problems and ego weaknesses that will always affect a share of humankind, and like every such practice, it will ever have its promoters and adopters on the Internet (if the idea that “women unfairly are paid less for their work” has its scores of promoters and adopters on the Internet, to make but an example, why wouldn’t anorexia have them?).
Real fasting on the other hand (where “fasting” is not a nice-sounding word used to cover the manifestation of mental problems and self-hatred) can be useful, at times and in moderation; the best behaviour remaining to eat in moderatin and with your body’s health on your mind rather than giving to your gluttonous drives free rein.
This (not self-hatred, voluntary self-starvation and physical self-harm, or the ego’s will to lord it over the body, which is not its property) has a relation with being with Christ, and for It — if one is a Christian.
Yes, autophagy starts about 3 days after beginning a fast. First your body uses up stored carbs, then lipids, followed lastly by proteins (muscle loss).
But if you eat only protein after your fast, there is no muscle loss, because your blood is saturated with protein. Hence you lose fat but keep muscle.
Weight training combined with protein consumption, after a short or moderate fast, actually builds muscles and strength.
Lose fat & gain muscles, while eating as much protein as you want. What’s not to like?
As with everything, don’t go overboard.
Fasting is one of the most reliable ways of inducing altered states of consciousness, which is why all of the major religious traditions incorporate fasting in a religious setting. This was practiced much more in past centuries, you may have to dig a little to discover how widespread the practice was.
Christian mystics would practice severe fasting as a way of proving their bona fides, because entering a Buddhist-style meditation can greatly slow your metabolism and will allow you to survive much longer without food, which gives IMHO a pretty good indication of how we evolved the ability to meditate in a quasi-trance while focusing on something of great emotional significance.
Crippling depression? Really? If true, I feel sorry for him. And if true, pretty courageous and honest to admit that.
there’s a lot of talk about fasting here but few particulars.
What exactly should one drink when fasting and at what time of day? How many times a day?
No one seems to answer this basic question.
Attempting to outdo Jesus. Okay. I can see flaw in the plan, but to each his own. Life starts to ebb away at week 3 without food.
Food, specifically protein, is eventually required, although an 8 day fast will mostly leave you tired by the end. Americans cannot fast forever in so much that most are probably protein deficient.
Well, good for you! But I would not advise people with blood sugar dis-regulation (hypo- or hyper-glycemia) and maybe some other health problem to do a water-only fast unless in a health clinic under the supervision of a qualified medical practitioner. But even they have their prejudices and when the fasting person becomes seriously weakened, they just call it “detox”. Tourjours detox. Until their health is shot.
What works nicely for you may not work for everyone, but the idea of “biological individuality” never held much sway with people who are determined to consider only their own experience.
He seriously believes that he is so important that this alone entitles to read his “articles”. He is (still) massively in the wrong! He is obviously working hard to ruin his already battered “image” once and for all.
Wow, sir, you sure know how to pique curiosity…
1- “Betsy from Texas” ( been scouring the phonebooks for hours now…) in and of itself sounds both like THE movie title of the year and the full package with imagination running overdrive….
On top suggesting regular “prostate-exercise”…heavens, could you give any closer hint as to where this mythical angelic female creature might be found?
2- “It’s not to late, so please get cracking”
Hmmm….are you suggesting Andrew start a “prostate exercise” log/blog now after the fasting one?
Maybe easier for all (Andy+readers) to give him (and me !) “Betsy”`s phonenumber ?
Thank you sir!
Do you “loose” it, now, do ya? Really. That’s good to know.
That was beautiful, thanks for sharing!
People who claim fruits should be eaten on an empty stomach should be given a fair trial and shot
Trump has been fasting for years, but the only problem is, after fasting for a day or two, he rewards himself with a couple of big macs, large fries, large coke with three refills at Micky D’s and a box of donuts at Crispy Creme. What you do immediately after the fast is important too.
When covid happened I wanted to come out of it healthy, so on April 1, 2020 I started a 30 day fast.
I drank only liquids for 30 days. The first 3-4 days were hardest but thereafter I was walking an hour a day. I decided to extend it to 40 days, so the next 10 days I drank only water. The last 3-4 days were hard. At the end I did 4 days of colonics (a must after fasting). I was squeaky clean and felt super healthy.
When someone is forcibly starved, they can die. But if you have a clear intention to fast you can go for long periods without eating and be fine.
>first you body uses up… protiens (muscle loss)
>but if you eat only protein after your fast, there is no muscle loss
so there simultaneously muscle loss and no muscle loss
tired of this bro science garbage tbqh
Fasting is not rocket surgery (joke). Drink plain or flavored water when your body tells you that you need it. When you’re thirsty.
If fasting for more than 3 days, take 1/2 vitamin/mineral tablet every day and eat half a carrot, celery, or other small amount of green veggie or fruit a day along with the half vitamin.
If you are falling down or severe headache or nausea, then eat a little bit. Moderation, always.
Wrong!
Fasting is extremely interesting from many perspectives.
lol well i reckon you should do what you like then.
What came out of Anglin’s bowels:
It’s ideal to intake salt during a fast. A mix of sodium chloride and potassium chloride, at least. This is usually sold as “lite salt” in grocery stores.
Lol, Dr Betsy was a MD at a small town clinic. She did not need to send me to a urologist but she did tell me to “release” once a week minimum. It helped a lot. I was about 36 at the time and divorced. Her advice ran contrary to my religious beliefs but it is now well known that a person has to keep all the parts moving lest they seize up.
See Dr. Jason Fung for good advice on fasting. Being on a low carb diet prepares you well for fasting.
A fast of about 72 hours is the sweet spot for dialing in results and autophagy.
Mindy Pelz has a good chart which shows the responses of the body to fasting hour by hour.
See https://waterfasting.org/. There’s a lot information on the subject there.
I’m sure you will. All the magical, evil, morally bankrupt tripe in your Kabbalah. Again, nice try yehudi.
Jesus wasn’t a real person. A literary character.
Wanking is good for your prostate?

Hear, hear. Baby making sex is the best sex ever, as us experienced older guys know. Don’t worry about the work associated with young children – the women do most of that. Make sure you insist that she breast feeds and uses cloth nappies. One of the great things about being a father is that you can boss your woman around. They expect it. and they like it.
Congratulations on the fast. Inspirational stuff. The hunger strikers did about sixty days before they died, if memory serves. Beir bua.
Congratulations to all the commentators – vastly better than average.
Well, technically speaking, everything in the world is toxic, patriot, right down to the ultra purified water you drink. Whether or not something causes bad health effects is a matter of how toxic it is, and this is after all relative to each person. So I’m not scared when people call this or that toxic and just eat what I want, take my supplements and believe in my body’s ability to stay healthy.
2/10 article
If you ask me, at least half of all internal health problems these days, and I suspect most cancers, are caused by auto-suggestion. Scientists call it the nocebo effect. In other words fussy white people with too much free time and ready access to WebMD tending to self-diagnose every ache and pain as a symptom of cancer or what have you, fueled by the ceaseless fear-mongering coming from TV, etc.
Read eddie van halen’s story of how he lost his tongue.
So someone first gets the idea he’s at risk for X and starts dwelling on it. His subconscious mind picks this up and runs away with it. It goes into the greater sub-conscious that is our physical world which in turn starts to manifest it, more or less. More if a powerful emotion like fear is involved.
I used to be somewhat of a hypochondriac myself and suffered some lasting physical problems because of my naïve imaginings, I know how this stuff works. People are unwittingly practicing magick on themselves all the time and getting sick from it.
Beware the thoughts in the back of your mind.
it’s an obvious trick to keep everyone’s mind in the crotch realm, probably started by a jew

Yes, the key is autophagy. funny how insta expert Anglin goes out of his way to site far east mysticism when autophagy has been known about for some time.
Andrew, no way you top the amazing effort, the inspiring fortitude, of Congressthief Greg Casar. Remember his incredible 8 hours without any food or liquids?
https://www.oann.com/newsroom/dem-congressman-mocked-after-his-attempted-thirst-strike-lasts-only-8-hours/
Stunning. He shames the Revolutionary War heroes, the Medal of Honor winners from the Civil War. Simply incredible.
A very old saying might be useful to you. Half the people in this world will always be full of shit and the other half just need a good enema! Take care
the irony of these pointless fasting posts is that they make you look like a thirsty bitch.
i kid. sorta. it must have some effect since you praised a woman, a black person and a jewish anal sex enthusiast in one paragraph. being so brainlessly contrarian and/or edge lord you can defend weinstein is only a little less retarded than the incel NPCs who thought rittenhouse should avoid a lifetime of big house rectum abuse.
and there has been ample western discussion of fasting…it was just from sources you’d never read because dr. joe rogan told you eating raw elk balls was a great weight loss solution. or was it peterson with his steak and benzo smoothies? you’ll be so bombed you won’t even notice the waterfall of diarrhea!

good luck or whatever. i’ll leave you to the anti-carb dumb fucks to talk about how rice is deadly because look at how obese and dumb and low energy people in east asia are.
Unless you are already ketogenetic, the body will attack muscle

if female, the only way to selectively get rid of the britches is breastfeeding.
Hope this helps 😁
Alcohol is horrible for our bodies and minds. Now that you don’t feel the “need” to drink, you should remember that feeling after your fast is over.
Alcohol can cause a catch22 — makes you feel good, but causes health problems which make you feel crappy, so then you drink again to not feel crappy….and the cycle continues.
The fast will help clear your brain out and give you a reset, so now is a good time to stop.
Don’t think of not drinking as something you are depriving yourself of, think of it as something you have decided to move on from to give yourself a better life.
Your body and mind will thank you for it. You will live a much healthier and happier life by just not drinking alcohol.
You can do it! 🙂
>This is because digestion is one of the most energy-intensive activity your body does.
Most feel lethargic and experience an urge to rest or sleep after eating — this is because the body expands blood flow to the gut in order to transport absorbed nutrients — blood flow to the rest of the body, including muscles and the brain, is reduced — the perception of being tired or sleepy is your brain telling you to rest during this process.
It has been known for a long time that calorie restriction increases lifespan in laboratory animals — note this is not the same as fasting: calorie restriction is consuming fewer calories for a lengthy period of time — it’s assumed that by eating less, humans will experience the same benefit, but as far as I know this has not been verified (partly for ethical reasons).
The general benefit of fasting is that it cleanses the body of accumulated biochemical junk, including intracellular junk — in the absence of consumed calories, the body breaks down this biochemical junk to meet its energy needs — during a lengthy fast, this may also result in some loss of muscle mass.
I think it’s unrealistic to expect a single fast to ‘solve’ your ‘prostate problem, a liver problem, and crippling depression’ — but I don’t think it’s unrealistic to expect the general cleansing will help with all of them.
Thanks for the report and good luck with the rest of your fast.
At the height of your alcoholism how much vodka did you go through in a day?
I’m pretty sure this one is the “gay troll” or “Sue Dunham” from a year back. The faggot has an immense hatred of Anglin and any God related.
Faggets are a curse on humanity, a mental sickness of sexual deviancy. Faggets, kikes and women. Two need extermination, one need chains in the kitchen.
You’re weak and lazy. It only takes me 12 hours to push food from my mouth out of my ass.
None of your ‘medical problems’ are going to be resolved by this, and you know it.
You’re going through a midlife crisis. Basically like a hormonal woman doing yoga.
Yep. Fasting is a great thing to do. Keep at it Andrew.
You might want to read; “Traditional Foods Are Your Best Medicine”, by Ron Schmid ND. I went to see Ron years ago and he changed my life for the better. Fascinating book mostly about Weston Price.
Nature’s Bounty Saw Palmetto, which you can get at any Rite-Aid, Walgreens, or Amazon, is super helpful with the prostate, at least mine anyway.
your judaic “god” has earned that hatred
He was a real person (executed in 69 BC) coming out of a long historic process on the one hand, and a profound religious movement on the other, who got a very succesful Hollywood makeover which took a hundred and fifty years to produce, and a cast of thousands, to bring him to the attention of the public. See The Second Coming of the Judeo-Zoroastrian Jesus of the Dead Sea Scrolls.
My wife joined a (Christian) cult with a leader who claims to have fasted once longer than Jesus. He then was anointed by God and is now a healer with a big congregation. He just bought a new Cadillac with the money that his disciples have given him. Including my wife. Next stop is the airport for a new plane.
So fasting, or saying you fasted, has rewards other than spiritual.
Know tones of men who have done fasts, keto/carnivore something or another diet, stopped drinking for months, take ganja medications, do psychedelics, etc….
All of them, and I mean all, go back to drinking. And when they go back, they go back in hard to make up for lost time.
Thing I was thinking was, AA has promoted drinking and tobacco as something manly and good. He says himself most of his readers are kids. Yet, now he comes out that he is half dead at 40. Something to consider.
You go…like I said I just completed 18 days at the age of 70 and I’m as I do every year I find it the single most beneficial way to improve my energy and health.
All these purveyors of supplements can maybe tell me why I have more energy at day 18 than I did before I began the fast?
I think advanced research will show that our body metabolizes fat and finds ways to synthesize nutrients/vitamins lacking from what is available.
The idea that we need to be paranoid so as to spend endless time and money finding the perfect diet or vitamin regime is likely hogwash; at least in having done the experiment in my own body; everyone’s body is different. Been fasting and on a mostly raw plant based diet for 45 years.
Try it; you’ll be amazed. Find a mentor if you need support. Books by True North fasting clinic author in Santa Rosa (name?). It’s not complicated. First few days are most difficult if one has to detox from toxic diet and beverages…Peace, Chief Ponus

My friend, Theosis is harder for those of us without a divine nature than those who do.
Upton Sinclair’s ‘The Fasting Cure’ is free on Internet Archive. He was convinced of its value.
Funnily it’s Ramadan these days and AA is fasting. If he lasts longer, maybe a month, he will have accomplished Ramadan.
It’s also a way to understand what children in Gaza experience since 17 months, although they don’t have the luxury to choose when to start, stop or even to drink proper water.
Having prostate and liver problems can definitely be linked to alcohol. Beer is not good for prostate and liquors & wines in abuse are bad for the liver. The depression can be felt in many of Andrew’s work, specially the memes.
Is AA in his 40’s? Prostate problems tend to start later, so is he older?
Wanking good for prostate? As long as seminal fluid is spent, does it matter if it’s with the wife or with one owns hand? Any expert?
Interesting subject and many good comments, it also suggests that many weaknesses might come from modern comfort. Along with fasting, spending few days in complete nature with limited gears and means is something to do.

How long a dry fast to cure all those diseases?
After maybe 3-5 days, all of the diseases will be gone (because you would be dead).
You’re very, very stupid. Not much of an insight, granted, but nonetheless correct.
Fasting does all sorts of good things for the body, metabolically.
I didn’t read it but I think Corey Lewandowski wrote about it in his book, “Let Trump Be Trump.”
It depends on the disease, of course, but 7 days is the maximum one should dry fast without medical supervision. The Russian doctors who perfected this technique put some patients on dry fasts of 11 days and more, for the tougher diseases. For those who are interested, I’ve put Chapter 2 of August Dunning’s The Phoenix Protocol below the more tab.
There are two types of dry fast: “soft” and “hard”. In the hard dry fast you cannot come into contact with water: no brushing of teeth, taking showers, etc. In a soft dry fast you may come into contact with water — you can even go to the beach if you want — but you may not swallow any water.
I’ve done one “hard” and two “soft” dry fasts, about 5 days each, after doing several 7-day water fasts. Ideally, you should take the dry fast to 7 days, because the last couple of days is when the real benefits come in, like stem cell regeneration. You should do it at least once a year to lower the risk of cancer by 95% (as per Thomas Seyfried). See the Phoenix Protocol below:
The Phoenix Protocol
By August Dunning
Chapter 2
Dry Fasting
“To do nothing is a good remedy.”
– Hippocrates
Dry fasting is a deliberate pause of digestive function for a few days. The Phoenix Protocol is only 7 days. Compared to other types of fasting, dry fasting is a remarkably more comfortable form as you will soon learn.
There are two types of dry fasts:
A soft dry fast allows you to be in contact with water such as bathing, washing your hands and face but not swallowing any water.
A hard dry fast requires no contact with any water whatsoever (this type of fasting is not recommended).
Dry fasting is a far rarer form of fasting because people have been convinced that it’s impossible to go without water for longer than three days. But this assumption is incorrect because the body can make its own water, endogenous water, during the transformation of fatty acids stored in adipose tissue into ATP inside every cell.
The Russian doctors, who perfected dry fasting, determined that the only stipulation is that no water enters the gastrointestinal tract via the mouth. They found that drinking water stimulates gastric juices and stops the transition to endogenous nutrition. Drinking water during a fast also prevents the blood from becoming concentrated which then can’t stimulate the hypothalamus to start endogenous water production as described in the next chapter. Bathing is recommended and takes advantage of the skin’s ability to absorb water in a type of counter flow into the skin. This method improves the ability of the body to flush toxins out of the extracellular matrix into the lymphatic system without gastrointestinal tract involvement. [29,30]
There are two cardinal rules that cannot be violated during a fast. These are critical physiological conditions that must be maintained.
1: Blood glucose levels must be maintained because the brain and red blood cells absolutely depend on glucose for fuel to stay alive. [23,27]
2: Vital proteins in the heart and skeletal muscles must be protected to prevent loss of function. [8,10]
Dry fasting obeys the cardinal rules
As I mentioned in the section on stress, muscle mass is designed to be protected by using an alternative energy source for glucose to avoid breaking down muscle protein but also to protect the brain. Brain, heart and muscle mass is protected during dry fasting by drawing on the energy stored in fat cells to maintain blood glucose. Fat cells contain triglycerides that are a combination of fatty acids and glycerol and although fatty acids can’t be converted into glucose, glycerol can.[2]
When liver glycogen runs out early in a fast, blood sugar levels drop as well as insulin levels.[3] Insulin is used to move glucose into cells for energy so another way to produce energy in cells must be found.[2]
When insulin levels run low, it creates a stress response in β cells of the pancreas that signals α cells to secrete glucagon. This stress response sends out glucagon to temporarily find glycogen in muscles for the liver to convert into glucose. Glucagon also stimulates the pituitary gland to secrete growth hormone to slow muscle tissue loss at the same time.[4]
When glycogen in muscle is exhausted, energy requirements are met by cleaving triglycerides, stored in fat cells, for their glycerol and fatty acids. Although glycerol and fatty acids can be directly turned into fuel, in many cells throughout the body, they are not used as energy by brain cells at all.
To meet the energy needs of your brain, the freed glycerol and free fatty acids are converted in the liver into glucose and ketones in a process called ketogenesis.
Ketogenesis produces acetoacetate which is then converted into two other types of ketone bodies: beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) for energy and acetone which is mostly excreted as waste.
When ketones build up in the blood stream, they make the blood more acidic creating a condition called ketosis. [7,55]
Gluconeogenesis
Gluconeogenesis means ‘making new sugar’. Being able to convert amino acids, fatty acids, glycerol and lactate into sugar and ketones are all the safeguards needed to meet the glucose needs of the body and brain during fasting. When the body has exhausted all other sources to make glucose, except proteins, muscle tissue is broken down into gluconeogenic and ketogenic amino acids to be converted into glucose and ketones.
Fortunately, The Phoenix Protocol doesn’t break down muscle protein since it doesn’t utilize amino acids to produce glucose. [4,5,7,12,15] After all glycogen is exhausted the body turns to stored fat in fat cells for metabolism.[2]
Fatty acids are turned into water
Water makes up 10% of the contents in fat cells while triglycerides make up 90%. Fat cells provide fatty acids that are transformed into your own water; endogenous water. Fatty acids are long chains of carbon bonded to hydrogen atoms fixed to an acetyl group.
Fatty acids are processed in the mitochondria citric acid cycle inside the 37.2 trillion cells of the body to make ATP. During the production of ATP, the carbon+hydrogen chains in fatty acids are broken apart.
100 grams of fatty acids are converted into 280 grams of CO2 and 115 grams of H2O (water) from combining oxygen atoms in the air you breathe with the carbon and hydrogen atoms broken from the chains in fatty acids.
Water is just one of the byproducts of creating ATP in the mitochondria, so all 37.2 trillion cells are making plenty of water. Endogenous water inside each cell.
That’s why you’re not thirsty on a dry fast.
i shouldn’t have used that chart to try and get me point across as it’s too simplistic. it’s just something i gleaned off the web and (shit)posted here.
having said that, i believe through my own experience that food combining is a real thing, it’s not some half ass fad diet or whatever. there’s more detailed info on food combining in the book below the chart titled “Alkalyze or Die” by Ted Baroody, but even more detailed info on a this and other healthy lifestyle choices can be found in a book titled ” The Tao of Healthy, Sex, and Longevity” by Daniel P. Reid. I have referred to this title several times here at TUR in previous posts. Reid discusses in great detail how and what foods should be consumed for optimum health, and also covers in detail how food can be used as medicine. He then goes on to many other topics such as fasting and excretion, exercise, breathing and other topics. Reid is a expert on Taoist medicine and was trained in Taiwan. This book is truly a gold mine of useful info and i strongly urge everyone reading this post to order a copy. it’s worth every penny and then some.
I know I will eventually attain my original weight. 7 Lbs 3 oz
Wow man you are strong, the longest fasting i have done is only for 2 days. But i am still doing the OMAD diet (One meal a day diet) i control my hunger with coffee and tea during the fasting window
How ever some days I would like to binge and eat a whole cake, haha

Should have used that stuff used for cleansing the bowels for colonoscopy, you would have been ‘clean’ in an hour or two.
