The blockade of Taiwan would be a very bad move for the PRC, which is already in serious trouble both internally and externally, largely because it has lost its advantage of low cost labor thanks to the demographic changes that, so far, have hit every industrialized country since WW II. Gold will have to be so highly revalued, people will kill each other for gold; at the very least, gold has to be at least 500 times more valued – just to compensate for the “paper gold” fraud; and then another few more times, to match the quantum of dollars in circulation; that sort of re-evaluation is not acceptable to anyone, except those who have gold and can defend it.

Sovereign governments do not want gold or any other metal or commodity – they always prefer a fiat currency.

Basically that means the world trade will take a very big hit – and that is not good for the western countries, who will find themselves suddenly very poor, but desperately in need of Chinese goods even for daily life.
