As a former full-time English (ESL) teacher I believe that some homework is useful, but it should be project based and connected directly with their personal interests. Something connected to sports or music for example. Using their creativity to make a short film or something. The kind of productive things they’d enjoy doing. The latest attempt at heritage maintenance was to petition to remove these entire farmhouses and homes to other, more remote farm locations before they are demolished. It will not be long before these “remote” farmhouses meet their razing trucks.
