From NBC News:

Michigan judge denies release of teenage girl who was jailed after not doing homework

“I miss my mom. I can control myself. I can be obedient,” the 15-year-old girl known as Grace reportedly said during a hearing Monday.

Community protests after Michigan teen jailed for not doing homework during probation

By Erik Ortiz

A 15-year-old Black girl who has been incarcerated in Michigan since mid-May after she failed to do her online schoolwork won’t be returning home, a judge decided Monday, in a case that has stoked outrage that it is emblematic of systemic racism and the criminalization of Black children.

Oakland County Judge Mary Ellen Brennan determined that the girl has been benefiting from a residential treatment program at a juvenile detention center, but is not yet ready to be with her mother. Brennan, the presiding judge of the court’s Family Division, scheduled another hearing for September, NBC affiliate WDIV reported.

The girl, who is being identified only by her middle name, Grace, was the subject of a report published last week by ProPublica Illinois, with politicians and community activists expressing outrage over her incarceration.

During a three-hour proceeding, Brennan told Grace that it was in her best interest to stay in the program after all of the progress she had been making.

“Give yourself a chance to follow through and finish something,” Brennan said, according to the Detroit News. “The right thing is for you and your mom to be separated for right now.”

Grace, however, told the judge that she wanted to go home: “I miss my mom. I can control myself. I can be obedient.”

After the hearing, an attorney for the family, Jonathan Biernat, confirmed that Grace had been making strides, but the “fight for her release” is ongoing. He was unavailable for further comment later Monday.

This past school year, Grace was a sophomore at Groves High School in the Birmingham Public Schools, which is 79 percent white, according to school district data.

It’s unconscionable that a Black girl goes to a school that is 79 percent white. As we all know, integration is the worst thing ever. Or was it segregation? In any case, white children are evil and must be dealt with.

Over the past few days, parents and students in suburban Detroit have protested in support of Grace’s release from the Children’s Village in Oakland County, the detention center where she’s been held in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

At Monday’s hearing, Brennan stressed that police had responded to incidents between the mother and the daughter three times, and that Grace’s detainment was the result of that, the Detroit News reported.

“She was not detained because she didn’t turn her homework in,” Brennan said. “She was detained because she was a threat to her mother.”

  1. This is a very, very low level bit of trickery. You get this on places like Reddit all the time. Thug gets shot after braining cop with iron bar, but because he was originally stopped for jaywalking it’s now: “black man gets killed for jaywalking”.

It’s all just so lame. If the dishonesty was cleverer I would stand it a lot better.

You would expect blacks to be fooled (or to go along with it even if they are not really fooled - deep down blacks know better than anyone how blacks really behave but they prefer if blacks are not punished for their bad behavior for tribal reasons) but what is white people's excuse? Why are millions of young whites (esp. but not only females) falling for these ridiculous one-sided presentations?

The new top cop in Chicago, David Brown, still maintains that Michael Brown was given the death penalty in Ferguson for jaywalking. It's easy to understand where David Brown is coming from--his own son was actually killed by cops for merely for killing a cop and trying to kill many more cops. Such an honorable death deserved a police escort for his funeral, and that's exactly what Chicago's top cop gave his son.

Anyway, that's Chicago's new top cop for ya--the guy Chicago's black lesbian mayor brought in to solve the black crime problem in Chicago. Definitely the man for the job.

  2. incarcerated during the Covid-19 outbreak

It’s like being thrown into a medieval oubliette full of bubonic plague victims. Oh wait, she’s 14, won’t even feel COVID-19. No matter.

I thought there must be more to this bizarre story:

‘Threat to the community’? Detroit student sent to DETENTION CENTER during pandemic for not doing her homework

Illustrated with a stock photo of an angelic 6-year old, but how does “Grace” really look like?

Diagnosed with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and a mood disorder, Grace is considered “special needs” and entitled to individualized attention from teachers to ensure she is staying on task, her mother told ProPublica. Unaware Grace was accustomed to individual instruction, her new caseworker saw her inability to wake up in time for class and complete schoolwork as acting out and filed the probation violation before even checking with her teacher. It later emerged in court that Grace’s mother had lied to the caseworker “in a moment of frustration” and her assessment that the child wasn’t completing her work was not even factual.

But it was too late. The caseworker had gone into court planning to ask the judge to detain Grace because, according to her notes, she “clearly doesn’t want to abide by the rules of the community.” Grace’s teacher said the child was “not out of alignment with most of my other students,” but had to leave the hearing to teach a class. Brennan told the girl her probation was “zero tolerance” and had her taken away in handcuffs.

Is she on the COVID-19 Death Row for good reasons now or not?

Who writes these stories? What is the original seed??

The root of this is dysgenic fertility.

There have always been "hyperactive" or rambunctious kids--now they are "ADHD" and we give 'em drugs. I'm not ADHD but i was in trouble with the nuns a bunch when i was in grade school. (Father Felix told my mom it was "the Irish in me"--smart man.) You either can grow up ... or not.

A huge number of blacks are simply not capable of productive life in the modern West. This gal was designed to be hoeing a patch in a village in Africa and in that environment she might--or might not be ok. Here, if she can't grow up to be productive--which i doubt--she should be offered the choice of returning to Africa or being sterilized. Repeat in the millions and life gets better.

But this problem is not limited to blacks. Our elites have discouraged smart white women from having children. We have dysgenic fertility. Plus almost everyone survives with modern medicine. Mutational load is building.

A nation which does not practice--through raw nature or explicit policy--eugenic fertility will necessarily decline. If your population gets worse ... your nation will get worse.

Michigan judge denies release of teenage girl who was jailed AFTER not doing homework

Note the use of the word “after” in the headline.

Correct. That's the key. One of the main dilemmas for the news media is (and always has been) how to lie without actually lying. One of the most useful tools (weapons) for doing this is the headline, where in this case, the word "after" was used instead of "for" or "due to" but implies the same causality in many readers' minds.

Headlines, out of necessity, provide minimal information, and readers' brains naturally fill in the blanks. It's kind of an evolutionary thing, and journalists capitalize on it. Once an implicit (bogus) causality has been established in the headline, journalists can leave important information undisclosed until paragraph 10, so they haven't technically lied, but they've intentionally misled.

    , @Kratoklastes
    @Patrick in SC

Well, she got in trouble at a point in time that was later than the point in time when she didn't do her homework.

So the headline is technically correct - which as the internet will tell you, is the best kind of correct.

    , @HallParvey
    @Patrick in SC

    Staggering dishonesty.

Yep. But when the boss asks you for a story, you have to come up with something. The more sensational the better. If you want to get ahead in the world of reporting. Besides, what is the truth anyway. It's whatever the press of the day says it is.

There's a lot of advertising money to be had, and we want it. We need attention grabbing headlines. Stuff like man bites dog, or even better, the Martians have just landed on Main Street.

The Xi virus blowout has exposed what thoughtful people have understood for a while:

In the computer/internet age there is no reason that we must continue with this Fordist model--drag 30 kids a classroom for assembly line "learning"--of education. There are some subjects--math--where there is a canon and it's pretty tractable from the nature of wrong answers to determine what a student isn't getting. And it's also a subject where the learning pace/capability varies greatly. Obvious that the kids just roll with computerized instruction.

Voucher the whole thing off let a 1000 educational approaches bloom and let parents figure out which approach is best for their kid. Some competency tests to provide metrics.

    Huge wins:
-- kids are happier and can get better more well rounded education with more active "hands on" activity that boys in particular need
-- deconstructs a huge public sector bureaucracy
-- can kill off the leftist indoctrination
    -- can be cheaper
    and free bonus
-- solves the race issue ... black students are no longer oppressed by systemic racism, they are oppressed by whatever school/schooling program their parents chose

This isn’t even funny. This is really what it is. These industrial age relics need to be dismantled. It’s not up to the taxpayer to fund childcare, which is the only reason these places exist at this point. Just look at the return to school debate. It has very little to do with learning. Parents want the childcare, teachers want a job. The fact that parents love their kids or teachers love their jobs doesn’t change the basic reality.

You’ll find very few dudes over 40 and none over 50. And many are tall. All are men. And all are able bodied, none are handicapped. Therefore, those organizations are racist, sexist, ageist, ableist and heightist.

Those organizations don’t reflect a diverse America. They also take economic opportunities away from those that aren’t tall and young and white. I mean, why should tall, young white men only get to enjoy these activities?

These activities need more diversity. They should have more Asians(my people) and Mexicans, they need more 50+ year olds, they need some women, they need some non binary something, they need some people in wheelchairs and disabled people. The hiking and camping needs to reflect a diverse America.

Apparently the people in charge feel that attacking the site will send more people to visit it, it is already getting too many views for their comfort, and if people visit here, they will decide there is a lot that makes sense.
I’m sure they would prefer to kill the site entirely, but Ron may still have too many resources and tech savvy for that. You can seen that the periodic DDOS attacks keep failing.
They seem to be stuck at stage one of “first they ignore you, then they make fun of you, then they fight you, then you win”. My prediction is that after their victory in November we will see them jumping straight to fighting stage and attempt to take the site down entirely by whatever means it takes. Perhaps a hate speech executive order that simply makes it illegal to operate the site.

The Gulag shadowban on Steve and "immigration" combined with Steve has interesting qualities.

None of the following searches returns any iSteve links: "Steve Sailer isteve", "isteve unz", "steve sailer unz", "steve sailer immigration", "isteve immigration", "steve sailer isteve immigration", "steve sailer unz immigration". (You do get some links to other sites which mention Steve or host one of Steve's comments.)

However, the top four results from searching "steve sailer whiskey immigration" are links to iSteve posts at unz.com. Searching "whiskey unz immigration" yields an even more responsive first page entirely of links into iSteve. Searching "whiskey isteve immigration" gets you some booze-related links, a couple of links to people like HBDchick mentioning iSteve and Whiskey, and two actual unz/iSteve links.

That is, adding the handle of the infamous commenter "Whiskey" gets you at least partly past the shadowban, and leaving out iSteve and/or Steve Sailer actually improves your results.

Searching just for "unz immigration" (no mention of Steve/iSteve) produces a pageful of links to Ron's articles at unz.com (so Google isn't banning Ron in the same way as Steve).

FWIW, the "site:unz.com" search qualifier still works-- if you specify that you want results from unz.com relating to Steve or immigration then you do get them (like "site:unz.com isteve" which returns all iSteve links on the first page).

Gulag must have put some kind of negative weighting onto iSteve, Steve Sailer, "immigration" in the context of iSteve...

I used to be something Libertarian in my mid 1920s. Not anymore. When the private companies hate us and want to defame, incarcerate or replace us - the last thing I want is to have these bad private people, private companies controlling everything like the media, internet, banking.

What if our free interstate hi ways are privatized to the likes of Mark Zuckerberg, CNN's Jeff Zucker, Google and Microsoft. These now private roads can have guards stopping our cars from entry ramps, asking about some twitter post we might have made against BLM, Antifa Riots - and then it's:

"This is a private road, we decide which customers we want to serve"

And then Rand Paul and Ron Paul can be called in to say that this is all well and good and if we don't like it we can build our own private road system.

    Nightmare - Orwellian nightmare.

Correct. That’s the key. One of the main dilemmas for the news media is (and always has been) how to lie without actually lying. One of the most useful tools (weapons) for doing this is the headline, where in this case, the word “after” was used instead of “for” or “due to” but implies the same causality in many readers’ minds.

Headlines, out of necessity, provide minimal information, and readers’ brains naturally fill in the blanks. It’s kind of an evolutionary thing, and journalists capitalize on it. Once an implicit (bogus) causality has been established in the headline, journalists can leave important information undisclosed until paragraph 10, so they haven’t technically lied, but they’ve intentionally misled.

The Gulag shadowban on Steve and “immigration” combined with Steve has interesting qualities.

None of the following searches returns any iSteve links: “Steve Sailer isteve”, “isteve unz”, “steve sailer unz”, “steve sailer immigration”, “isteve immigration”, “steve sailer isteve immigration”, “steve sailer unz immigration”. (You do get some links to other sites which mention Steve or host one of Steve’s comments.)

However, the top four results from searching “steve sailer whiskey immigration” are links to iSteve posts at unz.com. Searching “whiskey unz immigration” yields an even more responsive first page entirely of links into iSteve. Searching “whiskey isteve immigration” gets you some booze-related links, a couple of links to people like HBDchick mentioning iSteve and Whiskey, and two actual unz/iSteve links.

That is, adding the handle of the infamous commenter “Whiskey” gets you at least partly past the shadowban, and leaving out iSteve and/or Steve Sailer actually improves your results.

Searching just for “unz immigration” (no mention of Steve/iSteve) produces a pageful of links to Ron’s articles at unz.com (so Google isn’t banning Ron in the same way as Steve).

FWIW, the “site:unz.com” search qualifier still works– if you specify that you want results from unz.com relating to Steve or immigration then you do get them (like “site:unz.com isteve” which returns all iSteve links on the first page).

Gulag must have put some kind of negative weighting onto iSteve, Steve Sailer, “immigration” in the context of iSteve…

A comment should be more than just a cut and paste from a NYT Op-Ed, my friend.

  34. In contemporary “mainstream” journalism, the word “after” carries a lot of water.

Technically, legally, it means “subsequent in time.” But conversationally it carries the connotation of “because.” Fake News reporters and editors take advantage of this denotation / connotation gap to imply the latter while maintaining plausible deniability that all they meant was the former. That’s what’s going on here.

Here’s an extreme example to show how transparently stupid this rhetorical trick is: “After Adolf Hitler ordered the deaths of millions of Jews, Richard Nixon felt compelled to have his political campaign play dirty tricks on his opponents.”

See how that works? Watergate happened chronologically after World War II, but by selecting these specific facts out of all the millions of facts that exist in this world, and by linking them with “after,” one can suggest a spurious causal connection without any proof.

The newspaper headline that Steve quotes here uses the same two-bit trick, and once you are aware of how it works you see it used constantly in the Fake News Media Complex.

  41. The front page of the school district’s website displays the hard-to-avoid text of its recently adopted resolution related to the matter at-hand.

It reaffirms the district’s belief that schools are a vital part of a much larger world and have a very substantial role in eradicating racism for all people of color ...

Public education was instituted, or so it was claimed, in order to provide (what we now know as) basic skills to desperately poor kids; the “free” (zero-cost) part meant ‘free men’, btw.

The schools long ago renounced their supposed mission of teaching the 3Rs, and replaced it with left-wing indoctrination and babysitting.

And boys do not particularly need "hands-on activities." What they may need is about another 6 months to a year's time before they are ready to be students. There is really no need to rush.

What if our free interstate hi ways are privatized to the likes of Mark Zuckerberg, CNN’s Jeff Zucker, Google and Microsoft. These now private roads can have guards stopping our cars from entry ramps, asking about some twitter post we might have made against BLM, Antifa Riots – and then it’s:

“This is a private road, we decide which customers we want to serve”

And then Rand Paul and Ron Paul can be called in to say that this is all well and good and if we don’t like it we can build our own private road system.

‘Threat to the community’? Detroit student sent to DETENTION CENTER during pandemic for not doing her homework

Illustrated with a stock photo of an angelic 6-year old, but how does "Grace" really look like?

There have always been “hyperactive” or rambunctious kids–now they are “ADHD” and we give ’em drugs. I’m not ADHD but i was in trouble with the nuns a bunch when i was in grade school. (Father Felix told my mom it was “the Irish in me”–smart man.) You either can grow up … or not.

A huge number of blacks are simply not capable of productive life in the modern West. This gal was designed to be hoeing a patch in a village in Africa and in that environment she might–or might not be ok. Here, if she can’t grow up to be productive–which i doubt–she should be offered the choice of returning to Africa or being sterilized. Repeat in the millions and life gets better.

But this problem is not limited to blacks. Our elites have discouraged smart white women from having children. We have dysgenic fertility. Plus almost everyone survives with modern medicine. Mutational load is building.

A nation which does not practice–through raw nature or explicit policy–eugenic fertility will necessarily decline. If your population gets worse … your nation will get worse.

In contemporary "mainstream" journalism, the word "after" carries a lot of water.

Technically, legally, it means "subsequent in time." But conversationally it carries the connotation of "because." Fake News reporters and editors take advantage of this denotation / connotation gap to imply the latter while maintaining plausible deniability that all they meant was the former. That's what's going on here.

Here's an extreme example to show how transparently stupid this rhetorical trick is: "After Adolf Hitler ordered the deaths of millions of Jews, Richard Nixon felt compelled to have his political campaign play dirty tricks on his opponents."

See how that works? Watergate happened chronologically after World War II, but by selecting these specific facts out of all the millions of facts that exist in this world, and by linking them with "after," one can suggest a spurious causal connection without any proof.

The newspaper headline that Steve quotes here uses the same two-bit trick, and once you are aware of how it works you see it used constantly in the Fake News Media Complex.

Sigh, years ago in Akron, Ohio a black mother of two girls was charged with falsifing records so her daughters could attend school in an adjacent school district where they did not reside. It became the stink du jour because the story was twisted to make it seem the mother just wanted her daughters in a better school. True was she didn't have to watch them after school because they could walk to their granparents house. Oprah was in with both feet. All the other parents who were found to be out of district and in every case white, settled up with the district to avoid an arrest. And as Paul Harvey use to say,"And now you know the rest of the story." Worth researching on line facinating SJW fawning and moaning and pandering. Just remembered this part of the story...when the school district sent her letters, she wrote on the envelopes.."In the service, deployed overseas."

‘Threat to the community’? Detroit student sent to DETENTION CENTER during pandemic for not doing her homework

Illustrated with a stock photo of an angelic 6-year old, but how does "Grace" really look like?

It’s not up to the taxpayer to fund childcare, which is the only reason these places exist at this point. Just look at the return to school debate. It has very little to do with learning. The optimal solution is to find such a woman, wife her up, and keep her barefoot and pregnant. Give her a good smack every now and then to show her that you care.

Some folks say that females should be kept illiterate and innumerate, but that's a bit extreme. At the very least, a grown woman should be able to read recipes and count up to a hundred. It's best to limit her access to books, though. And, for God's sake, don't let her watch television.

The girl has primarily been a danger to her mother. And the judge had put the girl at home with said mother for weeks and no further violence happened. The judge’s argument that the girl is NOW a danger to the community is pretty dumb.

The most accurate short “headline”, imo, is “Girl goes to juvie for violating probation”. Like with all probation/parole violations the nature of the violation is not that important and it doesn’t have to be linked to the original crime.

It sounds like the time in juvie has actually done her some good at least.

-Short attention spans (don’t read full articles)

-Addiction to the outrage rush (evil white racists are at it again!)
-Trained since preschool not to think badthoughts about minorities, esp. blacks
-Maybe little exposure to blacks who aren’t in the talented tenth?

Regarding the last item, my personal views on race evolved a bit when I was exposed to some black coworkers who liked to blame racism when someone complained about their work, for example. Some of this seemed to be genuine paranoia about white people, and some was transparently calculated to leverage white guilt.

"Talmudvision", what a brilliant neologism! I mean, what could be more exemplary of Talmudic mores and sensibilities than television, especially such offerings as the ones you named.

For those too ignorant not to have realized, I was being sarcastic. In reality, few Jews of the type who are prominent in television are likely to even have much familiarity with the Talmud, much less abide-by or even consider authoritative its teachings. The same could be said, by and large, with regard to the officious Jews who promote such scourges as mass immigration; interventionist foreign policy; anti-white hostility; feminism; and the normalization (and now celebration) of deviant and depraved sexual behavior. All of these are actually at odds with, if not explicitly condemned by Judaism (as understood from any traditionalist perspective). Silly rabbit, careers are for men. Smart women should be at home making babies.

The optimal solution is to find such a woman, wife her up, and keep her barefoot and pregnant. Give her a good smack every now and then to show her that you care.

Some folks say that females should be kept illiterate and innumerate, but that’s a bit extreme. At the very least, a grown woman should be able to read recipes and count up to a hundred. It’s best to limit her access to books, though. And, for God’s sake, don’t let her watch television.

The Talmud is a traditional target of anti-Semites for a number of reasons. They can't very well reject Jewish scriptures (the way anti-Muslims reject the Koran) because they are also part of the Christian canon. But the Talmud is not a holy book of the Christians so it is fair game. 2nd if you search this vast compendium you can cherry pick a few questionable passages where the Talmud says not nice things about Christians or Jesus, etc. Lastly, the fact that the Talmud is esoteric (it is well understood by few Jews let alone Christians) makes it a target - your imagination can write whatever it wants into it.

One of the thing that shocks me about unz anti-Semites is how musty their anti-Semitism is - the stuff that they imagine - the conspiracies, the alleged control of the financial system, even the Blood Libel could have been taken straight from Henry Ford in 1920 or some Czarist officer in 1820.
